I also know that civilian Britons in the region will be fearful for their safety. If any of my constituents are currently in the region and require assistance, I urge them not to hesitate to contact my office so that we can provide support and liaise with the relevant authorities. 6/6
The Prime Minister must come to answer for this choice in Parliament and give MPs a vote before we are drawn further into a widening conflict that exposes our brave British personnel to further danger. 5/6
Starmer has allowed us to be drawn into a military operation that has directly increased those risks, as evidenced by the attack on our airbase in Cyprus. 4/6
Iranβs regime is a dangerous one, but history has shown there is little evidence that air strikes will work to stop Iran or meaningfully help the Iranian people. It is now abundantly clear that strikes have triggered great risks across the region as Iran retaliates. 3/6
However, the removal of one man does not remove the dangers of escalation, nor does it justify the UK being drawn into another open-ended conflict. 2/6
I was gravely concerned to hear reports that an RAF base in Cyprus was hit by drone strikes.
It is important to state plainly that the Ayatollah presided over a brutal and repressive regime. Few will mourn his passing. 1/6
The Iranian people deserve to live free from a brutal regime. Donald Trump's unilateral and illegal military action won't deliver freedom, peace and security. It will only unleash more bloodshed.
The UK can't be dragged into another protracted Middle Eastern war by a US President. Keir Starmer needs to rule out the use of UK bases for any future unilateral US strikes.
Yesterday in Epsom we launched our East Surrey Unitary Council campaign, and the message is clear: we need a fresh start for East Surrey.
Thank you to everyone who joined us, and to @eddavey.libdems.org.uk for coming to support our brilliant local campaigners.
People are waiting too long to see their GP.
Finally the government announced they'll take on the Lib Dem plan for same-day urgent appointments. But there's still a long way to go.

The student finance system is broken.
The Lib Dem plan would:
πΆ Halve repayments for someone on Β£35k within 3 years.
πΆ Reintroduce maintenance grants for the poorest students.
πΆ Write off a proportion of loans after 10 years in the public service.
πΆ Stop governments moving the goalposts.
The anti-VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls) sector should not become a for-profit marketplace with products that risk false hope or undermine confidence in the justice system.
We must always put victimsβ safety and dignity first.
I was proud to contribute to this important investigation by openDemocracy into the serious concerns surrounding self-swab DNA kits.

In the doc, Daisy investigates the alarming rise in partner abuse among under-30s and exposes the sinister βstalkerwareβ apps being used to spy on victims. Iβm very proud to have played a small part in a film that brings forward so many brave and important stories.
Last year, I was delighted to welcome Daisy Maskell and her team to Parliament as they filmed their powerful documentary, "Controlled: Can I Trust My Partner?".
This support is desperately needed, but it must be backed by lasting and properly funded change.
This Government has a track record of stretching funding until it breaks.
Itβs all well and good providing short-term relief that allows councils to tread water, but will be meaningless if the upcoming white paper fails to deliver real reform on SEND.

I raised this in Parliament because mandatory GP medical markers are a simple and proportionate way to protect public safety.
MPs from all parties, and the British Association for Shooting and Conservation, agree - the Government should listen.

Labour must be far more ambitious in the fight against cancer.
I really hope this will be part of an ambitious cancer plan that makes sure every patient gets the early diagnosis and treatment they need.
