The Prime Minister must come to answer for this choice in Parliament and give MPs a vote before we are drawn further into a widening conflict that exposes our brave British personnel to further danger. 5/6

Starmer has allowed us to be drawn into a military operation that has directly increased those risks, as evidenced by the attack on our airbase in Cyprus. 4/6

Iran’s regime is a dangerous one, but history has shown there is little evidence that air strikes will work to stop Iran or meaningfully help the Iranian people. It is now abundantly clear that strikes have triggered great risks across the region as Iran retaliates. 3/6

However, the removal of one man does not remove the dangers of escalation, nor does it justify the UK being drawn into another open-ended conflict. 2/6

I was gravely concerned to hear reports that an RAF base in Cyprus was hit by drone strikes.

It is important to state plainly that the Ayatollah presided over a brutal and repressive regime. Few will mourn his passing. 1/6

The Iranian people deserve to live free from a brutal regime. Donald Trump's unilateral and illegal military action won't deliver freedom, peace and security. It will only unleash more bloodshed.

The UK can't be dragged into another protracted Middle Eastern war by a US President. Keir Starmer needs to rule out the use of UK bases for any future unilateral US strikes.

£5bn council SEND debts to be paid off by government It comes days after the Local Government Association warned that eight in 10 English councils would face bankruptcy, if they had to honour deficits.

This Government has a track record of stretching funding until it breaks.

It’s all well and good providing short-term relief that allows councils to tread water, but will be meaningless if the upcoming white paper fails to deliver real reform on SEND.

Government refuses to act on medical markers BASC has reiterated its call to the Government for mandatory GP medical markers, after a Westminster Hall debate showed cross-party support.

I raised this in Parliament because mandatory GP medical markers are a simple and proportionate way to protect public safety.

MPs from all parties, and the British Association for Shooting and Conservation, agree - the Government should listen.
