Cherishing democracy and cherishing "the constitution" are not the same thing. The constitution has all kinds of garbage in it, much of it intentional. Changes can and should be made to a document which still permits slavery and vote-suppression by states, and which does not have gender equality.

Like what does this even mean? Hypothetical Democracy is worthless if there is a dictatorship of capital. Only real, present, defended, -Exercised- Democracy matters.
