itβs finally here!!
she was Lupita in Weeds, too π (also she died aged 86, not 71)
Question: is this cannon canon?

very fun game, big props to the visuals, voice acting, and music!
okay finished South of Midnight, itβs a fun game! cute story with tons of folklore, lots of character, 10/10 music and voice acting to fit the vibe of the storytelling. not a long game, i think i spent about 12hrs on it? def worth it for a good story
itβs too depressing to only post about politics on here so on a much happier note, South of Midnight is a great game, go play it!! As soon as I beat it Iβm jumping into Expedition 33 bc it also looks incredibly fun
Attention creators: South of Midnight's music is completely free to use in your content β no copyright claims and/or takedowns!
Happy creating π€
complete shit show of congress foolishly allowing trump exclusive and total control over tariffs
nowβs the time to investigate republican stick purchases in between stock market slumps and bumps based on trump waving his tariff wand. fucking clown government
what the actual fuck, weβre governed by the worst humans in existence
michiganadvance.com/2025/04/09/i...
if the president can declare *any*thing an emergency, and Congress lets him do it with impunity, things are going to get much worse. our government is assaulting, kidnapping, and illegally transporting people across international borders without even the barest hint of due process.
trump just imposed a slew of tariffs (which he doesnβt have authority to do), which is tanking the stock market, raising prices for us on virtually everything, harming our relationship with every other country, and killing our tourism draw worldwide. great job everyone who voted for him.
itβs almost like everything destructive, terrible, and anti-democracy we said the Trump would do is happening, wow how did we know?!? π
donβt get me wrong, it was impressive and was *something* but the party doesnβt filibuster legislation or meaningfully resist (looks at Chuck Schumer) itβs not meaningful to say why Trump is bad, we need action to stop him, unity among Dems (unreasonable to ask for I know)
as an fyi, a filibuster is a tactic used in the US Senate to delay or block a vote on a measure by preventing debate on it from ending. a senator may speak for as long as they wish.β when debate ends, the measure can be put to a vote. Booker was protesting Trump not debating pending legislation
i canβt believe Cory Booker gave the longest senate speech in history and it wasnβt even a filibuster to disrupt passage of legislation. it was just a speech for a speechβs sake, which accomplishes nothing except performative opposition to Trump. i thought he was trying to block something but nope!
would love to see term limits and ranked choice voting, probably two of the more impactful changes we could make. the current entrenched cowardly democrats are pretty frustrating to watch flail

the anti-science party wants to have an agency they have absolute control over to research a baseless claim, presumably so they can get biased researchers/snake oils salesmen to further sow disinformation into the scientific community

Iβm sorry but we cannot fucking govern like this
Some will say this is him backing down and wonβt follow through
Iβm starting to believe he is actually pausing until he gets his tax cuts passed permanently
And after that will go through with it
Regardless of will he wonβt he, terrible governance
Are execs dumb? Was this not the expected outcome from having Trmp at the helm??
"Less than half, or 47%, of US business executives... said they are confident about the economic outlook for the year ahead, down from 67% of respondents in a survey conducted in December."
sending all the love, friend π
Actions like this are why claiming to be βfiscally conservative but socially liberalβ is an oxymoron. First, the GOP *isnβt* fiscally conservative, but second, the cuts they will make are antithetical to being socially liberal. Every single time. 2/2

hearing racist queerphobic republicans testify for 6 hours about proposed bills to remove βwokeβ βDEIβ and βobsceneβ materials from Texas school libraries is exhausting, but couldnβt be prouder of the gay and trans kids who testified against the bills
republicans really said letβs have incompetence in every office and make everything worse #politics #health

One stated reason was that schools were permitting βsocial transitioningβ on the campuses. But when you think about what that really means, itβs using a personβs preferred name and pronouns. They want that to be something a parent can file a grievance for and seek to punish the teacher/admin.
