Buffalo Springfield - Bluebird [Long Version - Remastered]
Buffalo Springfield - Bluebird [Long Version - Remastered] YouTube video by Raymond9

Listen to my bluebird laugh
She can't tell you why
Deep within her heart, you see
She knows only crying, just crying
Yeah

There she sits, aloft at perch
Strangest color blue
Flying is forgotten now
Thinks only of you, just you, oh yeah

Down with Bluebirds
-Margaret Fishback

When in the dumps, I hate the things
That ordinarily I love.
I loathe the lark that blindly sings;
I hate the bland, blue sky above.

The crocus, sneering on the lawn,
Forsythia about to bloomβ€”

Sky a shook poncho.
Roof β€Šβ€Šwrung. Mind a luna moth
Caught in a banjo.

STEVIE WONDER AND DANIEL JOBIM - WATERS OF MARCH
STEVIE WONDER AND DANIEL JOBIM - WATERS OF MARCH YouTube video by Morito Suzuki

The plan of the house
The body in bed
And the car that got stuck
It's the mud, it's the mud

Afloat, adrift
A flight, a wing
A hawk, a quail
The promise of spring

And the riverbank talks
Of the waters of March
It's the promise of life
It's the joy in your heart

Today’s Poem: We Like March Emily Dickinson’s light touch with tropes

We Like March
-Emily Dickinson

We like March, his shoes are purple.
He is new and high;
Makes he mud for Dog and Peddler,
Makes he forests dry.
Knows the Adder’s Tongue his coming
And begets her spot.
Stands the Sun so close and mighty

Fall

The snake said β€œFollow me.” And so I did.
I gave up my limbs, both legs and both arms.
I dropped down on my belly so I could
join others fallen, so I could taste the dust,

that endless banquet of the finest dust.
And when the rain came, I slid in the mud.
And when the sun shone again, I was warm.
I loved the tall weeds, their seed-heavy heads

that bobbed in the light breeze. There I hid.
There the ground-hived bees shared their summer swarm.
Their music was something I understood,
something like the stars, like rain, like the dust.

Miraculous and mundane. Life close to dust,
close to roots, ravines, and rocks, was good.
Every hour was full of surprise and charm.
Then the snake said, "Climb this tree." And I did.

Don’t hurt the radio for
Against all
Solid testimony machines
Have feelings
Too

Brush past it lightly
With a fine regard
For allowing its molecules
To remain 100% intact

Machines can think like Wittgenstein
And the radio’s a machine

Full Moon

And I came and went at will through a little peephole.

The KinKs "Full Moon" (Live Video1977) YouTube video by Curt2Katie2point0

Haven't you noticed a kind of madness in my eyes?
It's only me, dear, in my midnight disguise.
Pay no attention if I crawl across the room.
It's just another full moon.
Don't be afraid of me when I'm walking in my sleep.
Don't get alarmed, dear, when I start to crawl and creep.

Black and hairy, very small
Now he's up above my head
Hanging by a little thread

Now he's dropped on to the floor
Heading for the bedroom door
Maybe he's as scared as me
Where's he gone now, I can't see

Peace Treaty
AE Hines
El Retiro, Colombia

I find, staring down at me,

the silver lip of the sprayer, a tarantula
the size of a bar of soap.

Rainy Morning in the Horse Barn

Cold, wet but warming, horse bodies steaming
just a little, their sweet-salt manure smell soaks the air,
my coat, my hair. Sounds of gentle chewing,
thoughtful, steady, the way I graze on slaw or kale.
