Manchester City Council passed our Manchester Labour budget of just over £1 BILLION pounds to make Manchester better:

👶 Investing in top class children’s services to keep our kids safe, healthy and help them thrive
🧓 Supporting vulnerable residents across the city to live independent good lives

Labour is putting an end to being soft on fly-tippers. We will seize and crush vehicles used to dump waste and name and shame those responsible.🚗

Great to visit the Mcr Airport Aviation Careers Festival today with my colleague Cllr Annette Wright. Over 500 school and college students seeing a mix of exhibits & engaging activities, showcasing the vast aviation careers available at the airport. @AnnetteWright @MCCWorkSkills

Our members at Manchester Metropolitan University will be taking strike action for three days next week. This is part of a national campaign in Higher Education against our latest sub-inflationary pay offer of just 1.4%. This will be the latest real terms pay cut in 18 years of real terms pay cuts!

A great turn out for the National Apprenticeship Week event today at Wythenshawe forum. Organised by Mike Kane MP, MCC Work & Skills team & BW3. Almost 400 residents and young people attended including 60 students from local schools. @MikeKaneMP @BW3Manchester @MCCWorkSkills

Last night I attended the opening of a new £10 million, three-story building called St Vincent's at Loreto College Hulme. The extension includes 20 classrooms, a new lecture theatre, new labs, and a study centre. A great addition to the city's post 16 education and skills offer.

This week I visited Wythenshawe Community Housing Group to see their work as part of the MCC Economic Inactivity Trailblazer. The project provides support from community-based health & employment support services to help residents into employment.

I also attended Environment, Climate Change, and Neighbourhoods Committee today to discuss our update on Housing Retrofit.

This is a really important area of policy to help deliver warmer and healthier homes, and lower bills for residents.

Earlier this week I , along with @AnnetteWright and @AfzalKhanMCR , visited the library in Moss Side Leisure Centre. Amazingly busy even at 10.30 in the morning in midweek. Tremendous to see. @MancLibraries
