This matches very well with traces of the surface rupture visible a few km to the north on the high resolution Planet SkySat images (thank you Planet!). The offset road is the northernmost point on the overview, and I measured about 4.5 m of offset there.

#myanmar #earthquake | Frederik Tilmann Slowly, reports from the regions most affected by the #Myanmar #Earthquake are emerging and let us glimpse the scale of the destruction and the human toll…

Felipe Vera of @gfz.bsky.social shows an initial bilateral subshear rupture, yet the southward portion propagated much more at supershear velocities, cumulating to a "well over 400 km" long rupture!

Map showing the location of the earthquake on the sagaing fault. The fault is shown by a blue line. The mechanism of the earthquake is also shown as well as the source time function.

The @ipgp.bsky.social #Geoscope solution 👇 shows mechanism of #Myanmar #earthquake (strike-slip, likely dextral rupture on #Sagaing fault) and the source time function with a rupture duration of 2 minutes. Magnitude is determined to be Mw7.9 with this solution.
