Speaking at Parliament, NZ First leader Winston Peters told reporters he had serious concerns about vaccine safety.
"Hundreds of thousands of people have been affected here. They need to know the truth. They need to know why they were denied the truth."
ACT's David Seymour said he was open to the idea of a select committee inquiry.
"A lot of people felt they were ostracized from society and if this helps them feel seen and heard, then it might not be a bad thing."
Even with the support of NZ First and ACT, a select committee inquiry would require the backing of the National Party.
National leader and Prime Minister Christopher Luxon dodged questions over whether he supported an inquiry, saying only that there were "very serious questions" for Labour to answer.

For the avoidance of doubt this is the leaders of all three coalition parties deciding to use, to varying degrees, vaccine conspiracies utterly disproven by facts as an electoral weapon against Labour.

And now,
my friend,
you can finally say
that you have survived
six years of
this pandemic.

And yet,
my friend,
you cannot say
you still cannot say
that you have survived
this pandemic.

The Golden Triangle. A day in NZ's self sustaining rail future!

The Golden Triangle. A day in NZ's self sustaining rail future!

Air New Zealand is cancelling flights faster than National doing Policy U Turns. All because of the price of oil skyrocketing straight up. If only we have an alternative ground network to move passengers that was not reliant on oil.
Like electrified inter city/region passenger rail! πŸ‘‡

44,000 passengers to be hit by Air NZ cancellations over fuel, CEO says The airline is set to cancel around 1100 flights over fuel supply concerns, affecting the travel plans of thousands.

Now imagine if we had electrified the inter-city rail we used to have all over this nation.

I did not expect this government's terrible idea to bite them on the ass so quickly and thoroughly, but it is darkly humourous #nzpol

The news today that their replacement project is already breathtakingly overspent (with absolutely nothing to show for it) rather underlines the fact that the Government is clueless about ordinary people’s needs, and is governing instead for their mates

Reaching net zero by 2050 β€˜cheaper for UK than one fossil fuel crisis’ Climate change committee finds move to renewable energy would also bring health, economic and security benefits

Our dependency on fossil fuels makes us vulnerable. Wars across the world are pushing up prices for households in the UK.

Why keep waiting for the next crisis? We need to transition to clean power as fast as we can to protect people and our economy.

Oh I agree, they’re hard right for sure. Just saying in Australian politics the Liberal Party is the equivalent. They are a much larger and more influential party than National in Australia.

This is just my impression from when I lived in Australia (I lived there for five years). The Australian Liberal Party (thatβ€˜s its name - a true misnomer, don’t get me wrong!) is the equivalent of our National Party. Not the correct name at all, but politically the same animal.

I think National (NZ) are more like Liberals in Australia. National Oz-style is a even more conservative, kind of Groundswell/NZ First/Conservative Party cross

We live in a world beyond parody. The United States has had four minesweeper vessels in the Persian Gulf for 35 years. Just yesterday these ships arrived in Philadelphia to be decommissioned, a day before Iran announces that they are mining the Strait of Hormuz.

There's got to be some kind of formula in their head that they are so much better that they can eat the delays and costs from cancellation and STILL come out ahead, because their projects will simply be Done Well.

I think this government really do drink their own Koolaid, and genuinely believe that their projects just don't face the same kinds of risks as previous governments, because they are just inherently Better Managers.

The only people that TOP give opportunities to is the rich. The name should have given it away. Their name is literally a dogwhistle. "Opportunity"
As i n economic opportunity. Is always framed as a thing only the rich deserve.
