AGI and current LMMs are distinctively different because current "AI" does not think it funnels information. The network can be more or less advanced but the machine can not break free of or transcend this process. It's not primitive, AGI is a different species so to speak. A fantasy one for now.

A reminder that "Artificial intelligence" is a marketing term.

When people say numbers are being 'smashed together' it means that choices are essentially a network of true/false statements akin to any basic computing. A creative LLM would require real lateral thinking, essentially the goal of AGI.
