Prepare for takeoff π
Going through one of those indecisive droughts with gaming and have just been putzing around with random games. Decided to give Sword of the Sea a try and it's exactly the kind of cozy platformer I was looking for. One of the most visually stunning games I've played in a while.
My wife discovered Temu and this just arrived.
Itβs also launching within a week of Nioh 3, a Soulslike franchise with a much larger player base. Feels like this will be overlooked by many.
The original Code Vein was a fun but flawed Soulslike, I enjoyed it and was interested in the sequel. Based on everything Iβve seen and read, Iβll wait for a sale.
Pullled pork on poutine is amazing. We have a restaurant chain here in Toronto (Smokeβs) that has that as one of their specialties. Itβs a gut bomb but totally worth it.
After a few magical gummies, I would delete this entire thing. The next 24 hours might be spent on the porcelain thunder-bucket but zero regrets would be had.
As a Canadian, I can be your poutine hookup in the prison.
You know youβre Canadian when you join a subreddit dedicated to poutine.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy holiday and all the best in 2026. Iβm more of a lurker on here these days but I havenβt forgotten about my BlueSky peeps π«Ά
I gamed a lot in 2025. absolute banger of a year.
The #SpotifyWrapped algorithm did me dirty.
How Iβm spending my week off.
Ghost of Yotei completed, platinum acquired!
Absolutely phenomenal game, a worthy follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima and an easy GOTY contender for me.
This game is simply gorgeous #GhostofYotei
Just a shinobi, doing shinobi things #GhostOfYotei
10 hours into Ghost of Yotei and I've barely scratched the main story, time has been mostly spent going after shrines, side quests and other distractions that take me off the main path.
βBefore you embark on a journey of revenge, dig two gravesβ - Japanese proverb #GhostOfYotei #PS5
My only complaints were technical - bounties and mission objectives glitching out, the glowing trail being hard to see and often guiding me in the wrong direction and loot sometimes getting stuck in unreachable places. Relatively minor and nothing game-breaking.
Finished the campaign in Borderlands 4 and I'm working on some of the post-game content. This has risen to become my favorite game in the series, improving on the past entries in almost every way. 100+ hours well spent.
I'm a console simpleton, so I'm the demographic that gets screwed the most, it seems
They increased earlier this year, with Premium going to $189 annually. I thought that was bad, but this Xbox price hike make PSN look like a bargain. For now, at least, don't be surprised if PSN follows suit.
Game Pass Ultimate has jumped to $33.99 per month in Canada, almost $40 with taxes for maybe a handful of new games I want to play. It was hard to justify a recurring membership at the old price, impossible now with the increased rate.
Microsoft can step on a Lego.
My experience with Borderlands 4 thus far...
β
Gunplay and combat is as satisfying as ever
β
The on demand bike is a game-changer
β
Characters and writing are a return to form
β
Insanely addictive loot grind
β Steep penalty for dying (lose 10% of cash each time)
β Bugs/glitched objectives
I bought a 4 pack of them from Amazon for $20. At the rate I break/lose things, I'll be going through these rather quickly π
I think it's free for those who pre-ordered the game, which I rarely do but made the exception for AC Shadows. I'll probably delve into the new content this weekend.
I'm 15 hours in and barely touched the main campaign, I've been focused on side missions, boss farming and random map activities. Having loads of fun with it.
Forgot about this, and it's a free update to boot. I'll play this in between Borderlands 4 sessions.
