Canβt wait for June!
A huge crowd expected for this one in Baltimore, but will they be wearing black & red or pink? Drop a score line prediction below β¬οΈ
IMO DC keeps it close at first but Miami pulls away late; 3-1 Miami
Wake up itβs Gameday! Did you know the first ever meeting between these teams, a 2-1 United win at Audi Field on March 7th, 2020, was the last game either team played before the league shut down for Covid?

Had a great chat with @jasondcsoccer.bsky.social yesterday about how society peaked with Fifa 98 Road to the World Cup. Along the way we discussed DC United's season so far, how the new signings are looking, and what needs to go right for DC to get points against Miami
Sometimes the stats do tell the story of the game. No one did anything in open play, but Austin completely dominated on set pieces. United back down to Earth after a magical week 1

FT: 1-0 loss for DC United. A game to forget for basically everyone involved. Hopkins had a few moments but couldnβt turn it into real chances
With less than 10 minutes left, can United manufacture something? They havenβt looked convincing
Ramirez cleans up a scramble in the United box and itβs 1-0 Austin. Set pieces have been the name of the game
Louis in for Peglow, with Pirani presumably shifting left. Meanwhile Austin puts a third forward on the field with CJ Foudry coming in
Hopkins with a turnover and drive into the box, falls to Baribo who gets a corner. A bit better now
Austin makes some subs to try to get a goal, with Ramirez in for Nelson and Sabovic for Ilie. Uzuni drops to his more natural LW spot
Johnson with the huge save! Fingertips to keep out a low shot from Facu
United finally caused a high turnover, but Servania dawdles on too long and Pirani canβt control the pass into him. DC holds some possession and Peglow draws a corner kick
Hopkins and Pirani coming in for the second half, and now we line up how we did against Philly. Letβs hope we look more like it too
Halftime! 0-0 and boy that looked a lot more like 2025. Need some second half subs and a lot more composure this half. Set pieces the real danger for Austin
35 minutes in and the best moment for either team has been a completely unnecessary (and not particularly effective) bicycle kick clearance from Dani Pereira
Facu gets a silly yellow for sticking out a leg and stopping a quick restart
DC finally advances but the field but Stroud just misses the ball entirely. Not really justifying his selection so far
Peltola called for a heavy challenge about 30 yards out, DC eventually able to clear. Austin feeling fairly comfortable so far, but only able to create via set pieces
Kijima has gotten isolated 1v1 twice on the left via long diagonals, but unable to really trouble Austinβs backline. Earns a corner that comes to nothing
Stroud gets a yellow for a late challenge on Facu. DC struggling to get a grip on this game so far
I had mentioned Facuβs set piece delivery as his biggest impact last week. So far, heβs showing up again. United will need to tighten up
Scramble in the box! Ilie gets a good chance off a corner kick, Johnson with a big save. Then another on the next corner!
2 minutes in and a few surprises - Austin going more direct than last week, and Ilie untucked
Austin starts largely the same lineup, with Biro coming in at LB and new signing Christian Ramirez on the bench. The Biro/Nelson left flank is where I expect most danger to come from
DC finally officially posts the lineup. Peglow goes up top to partner Baribo, with Kijima and Stroud coming in on the wings. Not a huge fan initially, I think Peglow is best wide left and Stroud is a straight up downgrade from Hopkins
Austin FC starters:
Stuver; Gallagher, Svatok, Hines-Ike, Biro; Ilie, Pereira; Rosales, Torres, Nelson; Uzuni
Per MLSsoccer here's the DCU lineup to take on Austin FC:
Johnson; Hefti, Bartlett, Rowles, Kurokawa; Stroud, Peltola, Servania, Kijima; Baribo, Peglow
Bench: Bono, Nealis, Markovic, Antley, Hopkins, Turner, Pirani, Munteanu, Murrell
