Also, be aware that Rockefeller Center at that time of year will be *extremely* crowded, possibly to the point of claustrophobia. I don't live in NYC, but I do go quite often, and I found Rockefeller Center in November was one of the most crowded touristy places. Definitely nice to see once, though!
If you want to take public transit, I highly recommend the Citymapper app. I haven't used it for buses, but for the subway it accurately shows upcoming train ETAs, and it tells you which exit to leave the station from so that you're at the correct corner to walk to your destination.
