My comment was about immigration and austerity from 2010. Services and access to housing did get worse and immigration was increasing. I believe the Tories deliberately blamed the poor outcomes on migrants but the real cause was their choices.

This can't be said enough, Tories took the immigrant generated tax money to give their rich friends contracts rather than invest in public services. People saw immigration up and worsening public services, right wing promoted the view that these were cause/effect. It's a scam.
