I am pretty sure there is only an AA score gymnasts need to hit (twice). No specific rule for specialists… and if you are younger the AA score is lower. I am not sure if all the nominated gymnast did reach the cutoff score though at some point this year

And Lea Wartmann didn’t make it… seems unfair tbh

I’d love to see a controlled scientific study proving me wrong. Considering the huge effects which neuro coaches claim, there should be hundreds

I know lots of sports do these kind of “neuro drills”. There is NO evidence whatsoever that it works. Maybe sometimes it does work but there is 0 scientific evidence it has anything to do with brain function in that sense. Most likely more placebo or emotion regulation effect.

So realistically they will take Schönmaier and MAYBE Stöhr or Schäfer for AA and MAYBE Wartmann for beam. All the others have no chance

Taking part in the second qualifier for worlds will be Schönmaier, Stöhr, Jesenia Schäfer, Wartmann, Mühlhofer, Baumgartl, Gotthardt and Schlegel. Wiersma stated again that they would only take gymnasts with medal or at least finals potential. Notable absence: Meolie Jauch

It makes sense she wants to train in a group with others. But I am still surprised. She will certainly have to give up some autonomy

She used to train in the men’s gym which is much bigger and has a newer floor. Since Anatol took over there has been a lot more cooperation, the girls often train in the men’s gym for floor and vault. So I think she has a very good idea of what she is getting into

So Sweden is invited to the internal German worlds selection event. Pretty sure it’s to give the crowd some gymnasts to look at…

Wötzel seemed to be able to walk fine on the event final days, so I was hoping the injury is not that serious. I am really interested to see how it will go for Jauch. Apparently she is only training 3 times a week right now

So who will compete at the world qualifying competition at the end of September for Germany? I got Schönmaier, Stoehr, Mueller, Jesenia Schaefer, Baumgartl, Woetzel?, Gotthardt?, Muehlhofer?, one can hope that they invite Wartmann and Jauch…

So the Stuttgart girls are not competing tomorrow at German Championships. Kevric is obviously still out but Marlene Gotthardt and Michaela Mühlhofer also didn’t make it to the final start list… no official communication so far why they were scraped

I think it’s good to have rules like this but officially there are none. So it feels like they would accept well known people but maybe not so much other gymnasts. They should just make rules about qualifying for a couple events instead of AA

I doubt it. Even a watered down routine on vault and floor would probably help her Bundesliga team. (I also heard that they wrote a petition for her)

I believe she did AA at a very small regional competition. With very watered down vault and floor. You just need 45 AA to qualify. The petition process is totally unclear and there are no rules as far as I know

I think it’s great she’s there but she shouldn’t be allowed according to the rules. You can only qualify via AA (or be on national team). Hopefully they change the rules in the future so other people could also have the possibility to qualify on 2 or 3 events…
