We should go back to the Middle Ages, where kings led their armies into battle.

'Probably causes cancer'? A major glyphosate safety study has just been withdrawn over industry ties -- and yet the EU wants to make it easier to spray pesticides on our food.

So whereabouts are you?
Same here, in VendΓ©e. Many years ago, OH & I used to go round counting nests and chicks for the LPO, because they were scarce.
Ours tend to leave in August, with just a few overwintering, then return from January or even earlier

Bonjour Clare et ORCs
Yesterday was cold and wet, today starts with bright sun but almost a frost.
Shopping, trip to water meadow to look for migrants (black kite’s already here, but possibly sand martins or even a swallow), rugby this afternoon.
Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Good morning Caroline and ORCs.
After a dismal cold wet yesterday, brilliant sunshine. Have to shop but might go down to the water meadow - someone’s seen their first sand martins, and even a swallow. Often, the earliest migrant here is a bit less picturesque - black kite.
Rugby this afternoon.

I didn’t realise that people still kept birds in cages. I suppose it’s ok if they’re budgies and canaries that have never known anything else

We used to drive past a little shop offering shoot and boo repairs.
Back to my mother: my battery radio was mounted on little bugger rums (actually rubber bungs, so not quite accurate), and she was rather pleased when she bought her first shitted feets

Palantir are a threat to us all with their extreme right wing views. Reform have close ties to this company and Karps words are further proof that woman will play a very subservient role in their right wing, racist, male world.

Water crisis looms as company warns it can’t meet demand for new homes Councillors say it must serve as a wake-up call on the Labour government's plans to build 1.5m new homes

South East Water says it can't provide water to all new homes

Water companies haven't built new reservoirs for decades, paid dividends, govts did nothing

Govt wants to build new homes but no infrastructure planning. That's what happens when you privatize essentials infrastructure.

They’ve disappeared from one place we used to see them, but are doing very well in the little damp lane where the ones in the photo live.
Apparently you can sometimes buy them in nurseries - someone on a wildlife group sent in a photo. Imported - we don’t know whether from a renewable source

Wet and windy here, but found some fritillaries yesterday.
My mother was almost prudish with her language but prone to Spoonerisms. To quote her, spring is arriving in stits and farts.

Palantir CEO Makes Shocking Confession on Disrupting Democratic Power They’re saying the quiet part out loud now.

"Palantir CEO Alex Karp thinks his AI technology will lessen the power of 'highly educated, often female voters, who vote mostly Democrat' while increasing the power of working-class men."

Remind me again why Labour is shoving vast public contracts down its throat?
