A black-framed mirror hanging on a wall with a LED Cob lamp above it lighting down into it. The lamp was a cheapo 5$ AAA-battery-powered LED floodlight I got from a local dollar store.

I needed a screen break, and this mirror needed better lighting. So I mounted a battery lamp to said mirror, and now I feel like I accomplished something today :D

I used double sided tape on the battery holder only, so the batteries can still be replaced. Surely that wont break :P

This is why I will only ever use laptops that can be charged through USB-C from now on. It might be slower but they can still be charged from any phone charger, or even a usb power bank!

The game is really cozy. My only gripe with it is I wish it didnt try to sell the lie that you always win from playing scratch tickets lol, gambling is bad!

Yay power is back exactly 3h later. It turned out to be a local outage caused by a tree falling on the cables, so it was easy and quick to fix.

Not that a power outage stopped me from gaming!

Whew. That experience in gw2 earlier left me spiraling down, so I did the right thing: I logged out and went for a walk by the lake. It's a Sunny 10C day without wind, the first cozy weather day of the year. 🌅

Then I had a banana & chocolate chip muffin and made a coffee when I got back home. ☕

That's funny, I was just at Home Depot yesterday, and an employee tried selling me a service to have someone come install the stuff i buy. I said "Nah, installing my own stuff is why I enjoy shopping here"

It really will. I've been feeling bad being in the bus without a mask recently, and wearing one today gave me a peace of mind I hadnt felt in public in a long while. 👍

Since Chronic Fatigue is making me high-risk of ending up crippled from the smallest infection, I have decided to go back to masking on the bus. Sitting shoulder to shoulder with strangers in a small enclosed space is spooky when your system is this weak.

I think I can safely say I've found the cause for the random micro-stutters I was experiencing on AMD CPUs: fTPM.

I disabled it a month ago and havent had a single stutter since. I even turned back on all the other things I disabled trying to narrow this down. Games are finally enjoyable :D

I honestly feel dumb about having forgot those gym classes, they were fun. And now I feel like an idiot for having let my body become so weak. A decade of sitting on my ass all day playing video games was not good for my health, and I need to get back to moving. I ordered a hydraulic stepper for indoor workout, we'll see if i have more motivation to actually use it this time. I owned an indoor exercise bike a few years ago but ended up selling it cause I ran out of motivation. The Dr also wants me to try a new med being tested on long-covid chronic fatigue. Gonna start that tomorrow. Fingers crossed. I'm not giving up yet. I'm only 37 damnit, I want to live the rest of my life."

I just posted this in my discord but I figure some of you might like to know too. Just an update on my health, and how I'm not giving up yet. Long-COVID and Chronic Fatigue wont be the end of me, i'm only 37 and want to live my life damnit.

I've been living here for 6 years and the only fire alarm has always been *behind* my back door, which is useless, but my rationale was "meh if my place burns down i might as well die in the fire"... so getting a smoke alarm now is a sign that i'm healing. 😿

Zoomed-out picture of the Ryobi lamp on High setting, lighting up my entire workbench. I'll keep it running on Medium all day to see how long it lasts on this 1.5Ah battery. I might get a 4Ah battery next month. We've been getting a lot of long power outages so this feels good to have.

This is it, I am officially a part of the Ryobi Ecosystem: I bought my 2nd tool; an emergency lamp. There's no turning back now, there is only one path; forward.

It was expensive but it's WAY better than the chinesium on amazon. And with the amount of power outages here, this feels good to have :)

The finished DIY grow lamp on my very messy workbench. Two lines of high CRI LED strips are sticked to the underside of the V beam aluminum bar. Half the pieces for the wood frame are recycled from trash I reclaimed from the curb.

Two DIY grow lamps lighting up a mini indoor jungle of green plants. The plants didnt jump back as much I had hoped since their last trim, so I built a 2nd grow lamp to increase sunlight. The lamps are plugged into a 24h timer to fake night time.

Energy levels were good today, so I put that drive towards a One Day Build: a 2nd grow lamp for my indoor plants! 🤩🌞

I had everything in stock already so it was just a question of cutting this, drilling that, and soldering the rest. Easy!

Hopefully this gives my plants a boost...
