Charlie wasn't kidding. I could smell it from inside the package as soon as I opened the mailbox.

Sonny is microchipped, so animal control will probably contact them to get their dog back. Just in case though, the man I talked to will text the owners to let them know.

Apparently, her name is Sonny and she does have an owner, but she gets out of the yard all the time. The reason the phone number didn't work is because both the husband and the wife work full-time jobs and are so busy, they haven't updated the phone number.

Update. While I was walking Tyson, I started talking to an older man who explained who the dog I found yesterday is.

Finally home. 😩

I'm tired, I'm hot, my socks are soaked, my shoes and pants are dirty, and my hair's a mess, but I saved a lost dog from getting hit by a car or eaten by a predator and I think that's a fair trade.

As I'm typing this, I'm sitting at somebody's front door waiting for my grandma to pick me up because I'm a half-hour away from the house.

So now I'm chasing this collarless dog for the better part of two hours while calling animal control and 911 (same operator, by the way XD), avoiding traffic, and hoping nobody shoots me for trespassing on their property. I finally met with the officer at somebody's house and she wrangled the dog.

Except this dog would hop away or run off whenever I got close or touched her. I managed to grab the collar but she nipped me and slipped off.

I tried calling the number on the tag but the number was out of service. My next plan was to grab her by the collar and take her home so animal control can come pick her up.

Went on an adventure this morning chasing a lost dog around. I was walking Tyson (a German Shepherd I'm sitting) and we found this dog just standing in the road.
