Egg producer @kipsterfarm.bsky.social has implemented in-ovo sexing. If adopted across the egg industry in the United States, the practice would spare at least 300 million male chicks each year from culling.

Our first in-ovo sexed flock in the U.S. 24,000 day-old hens arrived this morning. A little over a 100 male chicks hatched, too. We’ll take these to a farm later today, where they will be raised for meat.
