*I don't like to fingerpoint at Andrej Karpathy as a major source of "Stanfordketamine," but Andrej does have a doctorate from Stanford

*Also most Stanfordketamine people just screech and handwave while Andrey releases code

In first, CIA acknowledges 1953 coup it backed to overthrow leader of Iran was undemocratic While other American officials have made similar remarks in the past, the acknowledgment by the CIA in a podcast about the agency’s history comes as much of its official history of the coup still rema...

I wonder what percentage of Americans knows that the CIA helped overthrow a democracy in Iran in 1953, installing a brutal dictator who tortured and murdered people. Republicans keep citing the 1979 Islamic Revolution as if that was the start of U.S.-Iran hostilities. Go back 26 years earlier.

Evidence Grows That Google's AI Overviews Have Eviscerated the Media Industry Google's AI overviews have eviscerated the media landscape, with some top publications losing up to 97 percent of their web traffic.

Welp. The internet had a nice run.

Some outlets have lost over 90% of their traffic since the "AI" summaries rolled out.

"...the four worst-hit publications [now] get less monthly web traffic combined than the r/ChatGPT subreddit gets on its own."

*I wonder how many activities can be vibed besides "vibe coding."

Is a "kinetic military operation" a "vibe war," for instance.

Is a selfie a "vibe portrait."

Is social media virality "vibe journalism."

Is life extension "vibe healthcare"

S.F. immigration courts gutted: 21 judges down to 2 after planned departures At the start of last year, San Francisco's two immigration courts had 21 judges. By mid-March there will just be two left.

San Francisco's immigration courts have been gutted.

Two more judges are planning to leave, Mission Local has learned, meaning the courts will be down from 21 judges last year to just two.

That pushes court dates out, & costs up, for asylum-seekers.

Government argues ICE facility protest was actually left-wing terrorist plot A first-ever trial against an alleged β€˜antifa cell’ in Texas could be a playbook for cracking down on administration critics.

"The prosecutor displayed photos on a courtroom television of evidence seized from the garage of defendants on trial for alleged involvement in a radical left-wing conspiracy: photocopiers, a bookbinding machine and leaflets called zines."

Look What You Made Us Patch: 2025 Zero-Days in Review | Google Cloud Blog Our analysis of 90 zero-day vulnerabilities tracked in 2025, focusing on techniques and how AI will accelerate the vulnerability landscape.

"For the first time since we began tracking zero-day exploitation, we attributed more zero-days to commercial surveillance vendors than to traditional state-sponsored cyber espionage groups."

Love to see the stats backing up my hunch.
