#WritingTip: Frameworks and metaphors are awesome when used *sparingly* and *thoughtfully*.
If every chapter has Three Pillars of XYZ and you have fourteen different bridge metaphors, your audience is going to get lost.

This has me seething. I was going to say "Removing personal opinions about [BRAND]" and THIS is the suggested text garbage.
I'm so distraught about the genuflection of Big Tech to the fascist administration.
Should not be surprised, but I had an inquiry today where the author opened with, "I used [insert company name] AI to write this book and am now in need of a proofreader."
Not this one. Pass.
Just sent an offer to an inquiry where I'm pretty sure I'm going to be ghosted or rejected, and that's fine. The inquiry mentioned looking for someone "affordable," which we all know is just "cheap/discount" in a trench coat.
Just a reminder that you are worth your rates. #AmEditing
Color me surprised.

back and forth (open): adverb
Not sure why this caught me off-guard, but I guess that's just English for ya.

To all the #authors out there, my biggest piece of advice:
Eventually, you have to accept that your MS or book is done. Stop making changes, stop rewriting. Do the scary thing and submit/print/etc.!

#Editors and #Edibuddies: who do you know who edits tech-sector content? So not "technical editing," but nonfiction by tech writers, founders, CEOs, etc.
I do! I would *love* to connect with other editors in this niche genre!
Working on a beautiful project today highlighting everyday stories of diverse people and just weeping at who we have among us in the US, yet the current powers that be want to tear it apart and oppress these exact voices.
I have a special focus among business nonfiction in the tech sector and love working with those clients in particular. #tech #editing
Hey! Iβm Nicole, and I offer copyediting, line editing, and proofreading for a handful of genres: business nonfiction, memoir, MG fiction (my personal favorite), thrillers, and romance.

Every January I get really nervous that one of my biggest clients has dropped meβ¦until I get the first proposal. That hit today, and it was from the production director (Iβve worked with him plenty and always have a great experience).
βI let out a breath I didnβt know I was holding,β as they say.
New year, new platform! I've missed interacting with all my edibuddies from the forsaken bird appβhoping to reconnect with you all here or on Threads!
