Right. This idea that Judaism defines itself in opposition to Christianity is just false. I grew up in a reform temple and I just didn't hear anything about Jesus at all.

Yes, I know many Christians I respect, and I'm willing to read the new testament and learn from it. I see much to admire in Jesus' teachings.

Yes, I found myself doing the same today. We had some paper with a fluorescent material, but it was pretty weak and hard to see the laser in the lighted room. And in a classroom with a lot of people with other lasers, quite disruptive to keep turning the overhead lights on and off.

All of these require some interpretation to get to a strong anti-abortion stance as a major life and political and spiritual priority. Only focusing on the old testament, Judaism has often come to the opposite conclusion.
