looking back on RE7/8 and shocked to realize that i actually love ethan. he doesn't seem like much when you're playing as him most of the time but god damn he was a great protagonist

anyway obviously i love complaining but. this game has a really fucking strong opening hour. grace's segments are terrifying and leon's segments are pure bliss. about ready to say this has the best combat since original RE4

also hot take it should've locked us into first person for grace and third person for leon. i get the idea of letting players choose what they're comfortable with but i can feel the third person animations affecting grace in first person and its annoying. also i miss first person RE7 cutscenes

first: why the hell are there no in-game camera sensitivity options. the camera is so slow but turning up my mouse sensitivity makes the mouse way too fast in menus. such a weird thing to leave out

picked up RE9 from a shady key reselling site for under 60 bucks. my obsession with resident evil is strong but my desire to never pay seventy dollars for a video game is stronger

Resident Evil: Village (4/5)

combining the two best resident evil games is an interesting idea, but 4 and 7 were both good for very different reasons, and the end result is something wildly inconsistent. fun as hell, and occasionally quite scary, but still not as good as its primary inspirations.

resident evil 5 remake is gonna suck so bad for various reasons but the final nail in the coffin has gotta be that they replaced DC douglas. he was the only enjoyable part of that entire game

what do i even say about this. it's a minor epilogue that only serves to highlight the inconsistencies in the main game's plot and introduce more unresolved plot threads to make the sequels more confusing. it's also an action game now. the shooting is fine.

just bought this because it's 85% off and if you follow me for music reasons you probably share some of my music taste and therefore should trust me when i say buy this fucking game dude
