I’m in Mexico frequently & always impressed with Mexicans’ awareness of US & global politics. Contrast that with US citizens’ lazy, entitled, isolated approach to local, national & global politics, which helps explain the fucking MAGA nightmare in which we’re living.
When we elect a president, as a society we’re holding up a mirror to ourselves & saying “this is who we are.” As such, it’s appalling that those who voted for this are suddenly reacting with shock & dismay to what’s happening & saying “this isn’t who we are!” Bullshit - this is EXACTLY who we are.
