It’s about getting the basics right again and fixing the SNP’s mess.
But only a Scottish Labour government will deliver the investment needed to repair our roads and support communities across West Lothian.

But only a Scottish Labour government will deliver the investment needed to repair our roads and support communities across West Lothian.
In May, Scotland has a choice.
From Polbeth to Knightsridge, Deans and communities right across the Livingston constituency, people are frustrated at the state of our roads after years of neglect.
That’s why I welcome Scottish Labour’s plan for a £350 million pothole fund to repair nearly 5 million potholes across Scotland.
Potholes and damaged roads are one of the issues residents raise with me most at my week street surgeries across the Livingston constituency.
It was helpful to hear more about the plans and ask questions about housing mix, affordable provision and the next steps in the planning process.
What do you think about the proposals?
Let me know your thoughts in the comments below 👇
We first sat down at Williamson's My Florist Garden Centre & Coffee Shop to talk through the plans, before heading up for a site visit to see the proposed location.
The development being proposed would include 91 homes, with 23 of those affordable homes, and a mix of properties for local families.
Do you want to see more homes built in Dechmont?
I met with the team from Lovell Partnerships to hear more about their proposals for a new housing development on land to the east side of Dechmont village.
🌍 Labour will deliver a migration system that is fair but firm, and compassionate but controlled.
💡 Labour’s choices at the Budget mean lower energy bills for families as the energy price cap falls.
💷 The Spring Forecast confirmed Labour’s economic plan is working- with inflation and borrowing falling, working people set to be over £1,000 better off, and an extra £921 million for Scotland.
Three things Labour’s Plan for Change has delivered for West Lothian and Scotland in the week just past👇
Women across the Livingston constituency and West Lothian are leading change - in business, innovation and the third sector - and it’s inspiring to see hear from so many female leaders and learn more about their leadership journey.
Alongside Jordan Stokoe for the Almond Valley, we also visited Livingston-based SilviBio, founded by Dr Alicja Dzieciol, which is developing innovative peat-free growing media right here in West Lothian.
🚺 The women shaping West Lothian’s future.
Ahead of International Women’s Day today, I joined Kirsty McNeill MP and local leaders at West Lothian College to discuss breaking down barriers and expanding opportunity for women in business, education and community life.
Today is a moment to pause, remember those we lost, and recognise the sacrifices and compassion shown across our communities.
on families across the Livingston constituency and West Lothian.
It was also an opportunity to pay tribute to the NHS staff, care workers, key workers and volunteers who went above and beyond to support others during an incredibly difficult time.
Today marks the UK’s COVID-19 Day of Reflection.
On Friday I joined local residents, community representatives and civic leaders at the COVID-19 Memorial Garden at West Lothian Civic Centre to remember those who lost their lives during the pandemic and reflect on the impact it had
I’ve also asked them to consider upgrading it to one of the new parcel-enabled post-boxes' being rolled out across the UK, so people can send small parcels locally as well as letters.
Thanks to everyone who raised this with me - I’ll keep you updated when I hear back.
I’ve now written to Royal Mail asking when it will be removed and replaced, and urging them to prioritise restoring this service for the town.
It’s been taped off for weeks and, as many of you pointed out, this is the only post-box in Broxburn with a late collection. With the others only collected in the morning or early afternoon, it’s causing real inconvenience for local residents and businesses who rely on posting mail later in the day.
Several people have been in touch about the post-box outside Broxburn Post Office being out of action - so I went down to see it for myself.
Labour’s Warm Homes Plan is about guaranteeing everyone can heat their homes without breaking the bank, backing British manufacturing, and supporting the transition to clean energy in communities like ours.
Not only are they driving innovation in clean heating technology, but are also training the next generation of skilled workers - supporting the local economy and ensuring Livingston Constituency remains a centre of productivity with a highly skilled workforce.
Mitsubishi Electric in Livingston is a major local manufacturing hub, and I met with Senior Manager Rodney Ayre and the team to discuss Labour’s Warm Homes Plan, and the vital role heat pumps will play in delivering net zero.
Cutting energy bills, tackling climate change, and protecting skilled jobs are key priorities for this UK Labour Government.
And remember, you don’t have to wait for us to knock your door.

Lots of issues coming up on the doorstep from potholes, NHS waiting times, local postal services and the everyday concerns people want action on.
These conversations matter. They help shape the work I take forward in Westminster and locally here in West Lothian.
Uphall street surgery 🚪🏡🏘️
Out knocking doors and speaking with residents alongside Jenny Young, Scottish Labour candidate for Bathgate constituency.
That means the disruption should only be short term.
Thanks to Post Office for acting quickly to get this moving. I’ll keep pushing and will update residents as soon as a reopening date is confirmed
After raising the issue with Post Office Ltd and UK Government Ministers, I’ve been told a new operator is now going through the onboarding process to take over the branch in the same premises.
