Scrapping jury trials is an affront to the very foundations of our democracy.
From the moment this government was elected, it has come after the civil liberties we all hold dear.
This is yet another outrageous assault on our fundamental freedoms. I will be voting against it.
WATCH โ @jamestalarico.bsky.social : โEvery dollar we spend bombing people in the Middle East is one weโre not spending here at home. Weโre always told we donโt have enough money for schools or healthcare or for veterans, but thereโs always enough to bomb people on the other side of the world.โ

Disabled people being pushed into poverty.
People with disabilities need support, not benefit cuts.
Requirement to score 4 points for an activity leads to loss of PIP support.
Govts attack human welfare whilst promoting corporate welfare.
We are all one event away from needing disability support
A pencil drawing of two men, selfie style, next to the photo reference. A dark haired man with a mustache and stubble beard stands to the side of, and slightly in front of a man with silver-grey hair to the nape of his neck, a hat and a short beard and mustache. Another man to the side has only his arm visible.
Looking at this photo I have tried drawing makes me realize #Warhorse really employed some super good looking men for #kcd2 . Sorry I couldn't fit #Eric in. #MichaelPitthan #LoganHillier #JimHigh

This is why I dislike conspiracy theories about evil shadow cabals secretly running things
It makes scapegoats that canโt be punished/held accountable/changed, & gives the ppl in power WAY too much creditโtheyโre not Evil Masterminds, theyโre just incompetent negligent & hateful ppl w lots of money
A photo of a small glass panelled walkway illuminated by led strip light at the bottom. It leads from the new section of the John Rylands Library towards the old githic style part. Looking ahead is a long corridor with several carved stone arches along it's length. There are wall lights on either side lit with a soft golden light. Several people can be seen walking along the corridor

A coloured pencil and ink drawing of two men. The dark haired man has his hand on the blond man's waist, as the blond man explains something. Thet are standing at the opening of an arched alley, with briar roses and ivy growing up the stone wall near them.
Played around with ink and colour on this piece from last month #ArtYear #art #TraditionalArt #hansry #kcd2 #HasCapon #HenryofSkalitz

โEvery hour so many damn things in the sky! How in hell did those bombers get up there every single second of our lives! Why doesnโt someone want to talk about it! Weโve started and won two atomic wars since 2022! Is it because weโre having so much fun at home weโve forgotten the rest of the world? Is it because weโre so rich and the rest of the worldโs so poor and we just donโt care if they are? Iโve heard the rumors; the world is starving, but weโre well fed. Is it true, the world works hard and we play? Is that why weโre hated so much? ... Maybe the books can get us half out of the cave. They just might stop us from making the same damn insane mistakes!โ
Midway through Fahrenheit 451, we learn that the U. S. government has launched a series of unprovoked wars against smaller countries, just because it can, while the population is so hypnotized by amusements & devices that hardly anyone knows the wars are taking place.

A pen and ink drawing of a couple in 17/18th century-dress,supposedly Spanish. To their left is a stone archway and a patio area with balustrades, looking out on a formal garden. In the foreground are two potted orange trees in the shape of spheres. In the background are a fountain and a hedge with an archway cut into it leading to a different part of the garden (not shown).
More period tomfoolery. A very different period than usual, though, and a completely new one for me... #ArtYear #art #TraditionalArt #PenAndInk #illustration
Despite her genius, the Geological Society of London banned women, so male scientists often published her work without giving her credit.
She spent her life in poverty while her "monsters" changed science forever.
Today, we recognize her as the true Mother of Paleontology! ๐ฆด๐
A striking digital composite that bridges two centuries of scientific history. On the left, a colorized version of the famous 1842 oil painting shows Mary Anning looking resolute in her practical cloak and bonnet, holding her geological hammer. On the right, the image transitions into a modern, high-definition photograph of a complete Ichthyosaurus fossil from a museum exhibition. The fossilized skeleton is embedded in dark, textured shale, showing the creature's long snout, massive ribcage, and distinctive paddles. The composite creates a "then and now" effect, placing the 19th-century pioneer right next to the raw evidence that proved the world was once ruled by extinct reptiles. The lighting on the colorized painting is matched to the museum spotlights on the fossil, making it look as though Anning is standing inside the display itself. This unique artwork highlights her role as the woman who bridged the gap between myth and the modern science of paleontology. Digital composite by Seriously Scientific.
Remembering Mary Anning on International Women's Day!
In the 1800s, the word "dinosaur" didn't even exist.
With just a hammer and chisel, Mary unearthed "sea monsters" from shale cliffs, providing the raw evidence that proved extinction and founded the science of paleontology! ๐ฆโ๏ธ #WomenInScience
