#ottbike I urge you to write to the PM and local councillor regarding this project : ottawa.ca/en/city-hall...
Bike lanes were completely removed from the project with a total disregard to cyclist's safety. I don't except the local councillor with a DUI to be much help.
This was a scurrilous ad hominem attack on the integrity of City Council colleagues by @timtierney.ca. During a Term of Council when we've all sought to avoid the petty divisiveness of the last term, Councillor Tierney sadly brought us all lower yesterday. 1/ ottawacitizen.com/opinion/budg...

Across Ottawa, from fairs and markets to townhalls and meetings, Iβve been hearing the same thing: people are frustrated and want a new direction for our city. We need a city that works, with reliable transit, strong services, repaired roads and community centres.
Can a motion be voted at city council to at least delay the decision?
Amazing!!
Thank you to Cycle Toronto! Let's keep fighting to protect bike lanes in Ontario against the Doug Ford government #ottbike
BREAKING NEWS: Weβve been granted an injunction that will ensure that the bike lanes on Bloor, Yonge, and University will remain in place until the judge presiding over our Charter challenge makes his decision.
Great news!!! I'm hoping to see the airport Parkway widening project either cancelled or at least moved to the lowest priority next
A motion comes to Public Works and Infrastructure Committee this Thursday asking that $10M be taken from a fund for vulnerable road users to plug a hole in the traffic signals budget.

Urging you #ottbike to email your councillor to oppose two motions coming at the Public Works and Infrastructure Committee meeting on the 27th of March.
One would siphon funds away from the Road safety action plan and the second and the second would delay the west side MUP on the airport parkway
In reflecting on the current O-Train offering, here are a few ideas that would enhance the service.
1.) O-Train Lines 2 & 4 should have the same hours as Line 1. (Going to airport in the early morning is difficult, but near impossible by train when Line 1 opens at 5am and Lines 2 & 4 open at 6am.
Only unofficially now I guess, after the whole drunk driving thing
Just your daily reminder that a significant portion of Ottawa city council, including our mayor, are total cowards.
Don't talk tough about "team Canada" if you can't even vote to get off of X.
Christ, even Ford stopped the Starlink deal, how hard can it be really?

There are so many better uses of public funds than accelerating access to alcohol in corner stores.
Could have just let the contract expire instead and paid 0$ #votefordout
A proper bus terminal at Tremblay would be ideal. Though low cost operators like flix would still operate from parking lots
Ford is triggering unnecessary elections. Get ready to #votefordout prΓ©parez-vous Γ voter contre Ford!
You can donate to other parties and get 75% back as tax credit. Considering volunteering as well. Try not to split the vote if possible
Most importantly, encourage everyone you know to vote!
Is there anything an Ottawa cop can do to get fired or is that just impossible?
What if a forklift operator was caught drunk on their shift, would they still have their job?

I encourage everyone to continue to write to your MPP and city councillors. Doug Ford and the PCs are generally awful, but today in particular they are putting lives at risk.
It's possible we will have early provincial elections in the spring 2025, let's get ready to #votefordout #ottbike #biketo
Hey, you can sign Ecology Ottawa's petition asking Ottawa City Council to push back against the boneheaded provincial bike lane law here! #ottbike #onpoli
So glad to join
@bikeottawa.bsky.social @ecologyottawa.bsky.social and many other community groups Tuesday to protest Doug Ford's ridiculous attempt at removing bike lanes. Ontario needs to come together and vote him out.
#ottbike
Heβs starting with lanes in Toronto, but all communities are at risk, including Ottawa. We need to stand up for everyone who uses these lanes, benefits from the cyclists shopping along the routes, and all those who will be too afraid to ride because of the increased danger. See you there! #ottbike
Bike Ottawa has been speaking out about the anti-bike-lane legislation that we anticipate will be tabled this week. Head over to bikeottawa.ca for links to some of the interviews we have done, and join us at our AGM to learn more.
Soooo happy to see how close we are to the launch of line 2! As it is currently trending, today would be the last day of the trial (with results coming monday), and launch would be something mid to late November. #OTTLRT @railfans.ca #ottawa
