Union wins at New York farms raise hopes for once-powerful UFW
Five hundred farmworkers have unionized β the biggest success in years for the union co-founded by Cesar Chavez
The United Farm Workers have quietly been winning big in New York.
UFW has unionized 500 workers at 5 different locations, their first wins in the Northeast.

This land has been in her family since the Civil War. Now, she's fighting to keep it.
βI wanted to leave a legacy for our family,β 93-year-old Josephine Wright said.
New from me: Developers are suing 93-year-old Josephine Wright in what she believes is an attempt to obtain the property thatβs been in her family since the Civil War.
She claims trash has been left on her property, her tires have been slashed, and that a snake was placed on her bedroom window

Twice in my career (different jobs, not current one) RFK Jr. called my boss's bosses to complain about stories I published, and got their attention because of his name. He is dangerous, dishonest & wrong about everything, and anyone covering or sharing info about him should be QUITE CLEAR about that

The California Senate has approved a bill to raise the minimum wage for all workers in health care facilities to $25/hr.
The law would cover all workers at these facilities, regardless of employer. That means nurses, janitors, food service, housekeeping, and more.
It now goes to the Assembly.

Today, I learned that the "P" in Marsha P. Johnson's name stands for "Pay It No Mind".
This was her life motto and a response to questions about her gender.
