Rear of a four-storey mid C 19th home. The masonry is a patchwork of century old and 1970s brick, and various sash and dormer windows. In person, the house has a C 17th feel. House abuts a modern shopping mall.

A caravan sits in a snowy landscape. It and the rubble from a foundation are all that remain of an old house.

Resolution for the new year: get the photo before it's too late.
Hamilton is changing so fast; blink and you'll miss it.

Street view of the Imperial Pub's two first floor windows; above a large orange neon sign; and five upper-storey windows. Pedestrians walk dogs and take photos. It is raining.

6-photo collage. Three women sat reading at a coffee house, an old silo, a freight train loading at night, pink echinacea in the rain, old Toronto multi-storey, a barn in bright winter sunshine.

June to July collage. Sunset on the railroad tracks, a woman working on a laptop, an old grain silo, a person snoozing on an outdoor structure, an old fishing vessel out fish houses, lobster traps.

2025 wrap up. I live in a "blink-and-you'll-miss-it" city--6 buildings down in one week. I've enjoyed your '25 photos; helps keep me on my toes to find a photo opportunity--in rain, fog, drizzle, biting cold, heat, and humidity. #hamont #toronto #stratford #montreal #inverness #halifax #photography

A blue door. The numbers 821 are at the top. There is an old-style letter flap in the door. A worn sign above the door reads 821 KING ST. E. The building is adjacent to an alley. Yellow brickwork has been painted many colours of browns, creams, whites over the years.

This old farmhouse is undergoing renovations; pleased to have found the old doorway still intact.
Mildly disappointed to have found so little of old Nova Scotia; most old properties have had money thrown at them, everything freshly re-sided and painted.

Give it a year, I reckon, and one of THE major societal divides, nudging countless friendships to an end, is going to be the one between people who post awful AI shit on the internet and people who don't because they realise it's a dishonest, ecologically ruinous evil fast-tracking us to apocalypse.

A triple espresso morning after a day off that did not include any hint of a vacation day. Work to rest, today.

Born on this day in 1593, in Haarlem, Willem Claesz. Heda. Painter of things on tables. Sometimes, as here in 1635, tipped, cracked, & broken. Also master of the well-peeled lemon.

A busy Friday making to-do lists for the weekend, for Xmas, for New Year. Have finally sourced a Christmas pud and mincemeat. And one day I hope to make both from scratch.
Advent Day 13: the hinge is loose, but I think it will hold edition.
