A blue door. The numbers 821 are at the top. There is an old-style letter flap in the door. A worn sign above the door reads 821 KING ST. E. The building is adjacent to an alley. Yellow brickwork has been painted many colours of browns, creams, whites over the years.

Knock loudly because it's Day 21.

This old farmhouse is undergoing renovations; pleased to have found the old doorway still intact.
Mildly disappointed to have found so little of old Nova Scotia; most old properties have had money thrown at them, everything freshly re-sided and painted.

Give it a year, I reckon, and one of THE major societal divides, nudging countless friendships to an end, is going to be the one between people who post awful AI shit on the internet and people who don't because they realise it's a dishonest, ecologically ruinous evil fast-tracking us to apocalypse.

Born on this day in 1593, in Haarlem, Willem Claesz. Heda. Painter of things on tables. Sometimes, as here in 1635, tipped, cracked, & broken. Also master of the well-peeled lemon.

Advent, day 14.

A busy Friday making to-do lists for the weekend, for Xmas, for New Year. Have finally sourced a Christmas pud and mincemeat. And one day I hope to make both from scratch.
