What irks me the most about white feminism is that it wants to save Iranian women from compulsory hijab, while not acknowledging that its methods to do that involve killing 63 Iranian girls aged 7-12 and 20 women volleyball players. Who will never see the day where they will have free choice.

It is endlessly frustrating that this needs to be said, but to believe this is to believe that cold blooded mass murder of civilians is acceptable in Gaza, but not in Minneapolis. A politics that is imaginatively stunted and racially circumscribed.

Spoke to a friend who works in Madagascar today. Two young men aged 20 and 24 died prematurely. As is custom, buried within 24 hours without a post-mortem/disease investigations. And for years, we have heard from global health agencies that Mada is “too hard” “too complex”. These are the results.

I can’t find it now but saw a graph on the reduction of scientific workforce in the United States. This will indisputably hurt the United States, and the world at large. So much technical expertise and technological advancement in medicines and diagnostics comes from the U.S.
Great speech, but I am conflicted knowing that this man propped up the genocidal state of Israel so recently. Time will tell whether Carney really means it.
