“Lewis could’ve scored ten podiums, and that first podium would’ve been equally as good. I promise there’s nothing — nothing — about Ferrari, nothing about Lewis that makes that podium any better than what it is.”

Ms. Wilkins, the daughter of a financial specialist in the aerospace industry (her mother) and a global consumer products executive for Gillette (her father), had lived in London and Switzerland, and for a time attended elementary school at Collège du Léman in Geneva. She is originally from the Boston suburb of Weymouth, but likes to emphasize her time living in Arkansas. "There are just some things the limousine liberal will never understand from the coasts," she recently wrote.

Brendan Carr thinks the future of media is an “EPIC Pass for journalism.” Of note: The Epic pass is a massive failure and skiers hate it.
Brendan Carr just said he can see himself suing a network at some point, and thinks it’s likely. Ben: Which one? Brendan Carr: (Shrugs). Countdown to the Kalshi spread.
Brendan Carr just ranted at Ben for three minutes straight about Colin Kapernick, the Olympics, Terry Moran, as Ben tried to get a question in. Ben Smith (as Carr continues to rant): “This is just…Twitter.”
Brendan Carr just pronounced Don Lemon’s name DON LEM-ONN, like he’s French. Weird.
Ben Smith is now interviewing Brendan Carr, who came out to a smattering of lazy applause. Opens by comparing this to festivus, from Seinfeld, wherein he gets to air his grievances to a bunch of journalists. Took him two minutes to say the words “New York” and “Hollywood.” Cool.
Max: When did you realize Will Lewis was the wrong guy for the job?
Matt Murray: (bitterly laughs)

The @pablo.show x FOSTERTALK collab the world was waiting for over a year on? Some people have thoughts. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xdZv...
SCOTT TOBIAS!!! Thank you, man. Huge from the likes of you.
Do not let this incredible day for American sports go by without listening to this beautiful story about Rony Seikaly—DJ Rony Seikaly—stepping up for Magic Johnson when he needed it the most.
Very excited to watch this deep look at Magic Johnson from @pablo.show and @foster.bsky.social
The untold story of what Rony Seikaly did for Magic Johnson, behind closed doors, is incredible.
And the reason why Seikaly decided to do it — which he discusses on PTFO, with @foster.bsky.social, for the first time — is even more powerful.
Especially today: youtu.be/xdZvVMgSzTw?...
"In some cases, our reporting found, ChatGPT continued to stoke users’ obsessions as they descended into unwanted harassment, abusive stalking behavior, or domestic abuse, traumatizing victims and profoundly altering lives."
Go birds
Yet another utterly phenomenal piece of reporting by @mharrisondupre.bsky.social (and edited by the great @jonchristian.net) on the dangerously spiderwebbing impact of ChatGPT and its ilk on people’s psyches.
If this is the album cover you're gonna die in the mosh pit.
From my perspective, Woodworking has done far more to get readers to understand trans people than all of the journalism I did on the topic. But "getting someone to empathize" is a different thing from "explaining the facts of a situation," and one fiction is uniquely calibrated to do well.
There was an NY Mag piece from early in the pandemic about how badly a Covid-19 infection could turn out, which was way more effective in getting me to lock down, wear masks, etc., because of how my brain works. But that was clearly labeled as an invented scenario, based on a lot of research.
If Elizabeth Bruenig weren’t Elizabeth Bruenig but instead were Michael Pollan or Ed Yong, the reaction to her Atlantic story would be vastly different. It’s a unique take on a well-established narrative that could cut across lines reported stories don’t reach. Also, you all gotta chill.
Lol that Pepperdine - no doubt a MAGA SoCal stronghold - is on there. Classic Hegseth incompetence at play
Crying. You must see what this is in response to.

SHOCKING FEDERAL COURT MOMENT: DOJ attorney Julie Le, "The system sucks, this job sucks" to Judge Jerry Blackwell who pressed her on why so many court orders are being ignored by ICE/Trump admin. She asked to be held in contempt just so she could get 24 hours of sleep. @FOX9
This is unreal. An AUSA talking like that in open court is about as close as you can come to a total breakdown. Never heard of anything like it.
Watching the Grammys and what is this megachurch ass bullshit
It's funny how the culture change in Silicon Valley and the decline of exciting, actually disruptive products being produced by Silicon Valley, happened at the same time.
