I very specifically remember in Yugi's first duel with Kaiba there were basically no rules aside from what's printed on the cards (and even then that is iffy), like they both summoned lv4 or higher monsters with no tribute. Kaiba did it 3 times. I should rewatch yugioh

Yu-Gi-Oh is such a conceptually funny show, especially in comparison to like Pokémon or Digimon. Like, Yugi's deck is not static. He changes it countless times throughout the series
