Not to mention, that she was sanctioned twice last year by the State Commission on Judicial Conduct. Trial over her charges occurred last week, but a decision has yet to be made. What a mess 😣
But I can also say that she never missed an opportunity to disrespect any given attorney, court officer, etc who entered her court. I’m glad I’m no longer a part of the dept. I heard that people in the DA’s office were crying today. I don’t blame them.
I hated handling any case that came from her court. Probation in and of itself can be seen as a “set up to fail” perhaps, but the conditions that she levied against probationers were imo, absolutely designed for them to fail. I don’t expect people to have sympathy for criminals…
I voted for him, then fear spread through the probation dept that our jobs could be on the line if he was too soft…that never happened. What I do believe is that Givens has absolutely no business on the bench or in the DA’s office. There’s a difference between “tough” on crime and “cruelty”.
