Seeing as the airports are largely out of action can we just use their moving walkways to transport ships across the desert?
Don't be too quick to discount the possibility of those cybertrucks just catching fire without any help
I would leave him to it.
At this point he is showing his need for attention and/or reinforcing his relaxed attitude to child sex offenders, both of which are already well evidenced and neither of which are worthy of anyone's time.
Perfectly understandable that you will want an echo chamber of people who agree with your views on association with child sex offenders.
*Accuses others if making ad hominem attacks*
*Makes ad hominem attacks*
It's literally a story about association with a convicted paedophile; maybe you missed that aspect of the story. Your willingness to overlook it is the real insight here.
Dude, you literally explain what you think constitutes a 'decent fellow' a few posts up.
Sorry if you don't understand what you wrote or what principles are.
It is hardly an ad hominem when you have literally called someone who knowingly promoted a well documented associate of a convicted child sex offender to a role where they would have political influence, access to power, and state secrets, a "decent fellow".
Given the principles you claim to have that is appreciated, thank you.
I like to think that we can expect a slightly higher standard from the Office of Prime Minister than someone who ignores official advice and instead chooses to promote the mate of the world's most famous child sex offender to the UK's most important diplomatic role.
It makes his principles clear.
No worries mate.
You have your values (being relaxed about giving a known associate of a prolific child sex offender an important ambassadorial role).
I have mine (thinking that people who maintain friendships with paedophiles after their conviction should not be given important diplomatic jobs).
He's in this situation because he ignored advice and chose to appoint a US ambassador who maintained well documented links to the world's most famous child sex offender, long after their conviction.
I'm not sure that he is 'a decent fellow' for anyone who thinks child sexual abuse is bad.
Non-zero chance of the IDF blowing up the team's plane as it takes off and the rest of the world meekly accepting the excuse that one of the players was involved in Iran's ballistic weapons programme.
This is a joke post, right?
Solidarity.
The reason that the far right harass Green MPs and not Labour MPs is that the Greens actually represent a threat to them.
I would have taken the job, but it would have been a bit unfair on my neighbours when the IDF obliterated my street.
Definitely sounds a better choice by the driver than the alternative.
From China's perspective, helping the US get bogged down in a forever war in the Middle East is better than the world's largest superpower having the capacity to defend Taiwan.
Oh yes, there is also a fair slice of arrogance there too.
They banked on the Left having no alternative and even gave Reform an easy time in Clacton in 2024, possibly so that they could point to Reform as the threat to society when in power.

It's difficult to convince people to vote for capitalism when they are being told they can never own any capital themselves.
Growing inequality, leading to the rise of renting and subscription-based lifestyles, completely undermines the social contract that modern capitalism claims to offer.
I think the answer is pretty simple - they focused all their attention on campaigning and never thought about governing.
In Government they continue to behave as though they are fighting an election, not running a country. Worrying about polls when they have a massive majority for four more years.
Quite a lot of the 'foren' part in the discourse though.
Meme of machines sparing humans who spoke politely to AI.
I always speak politely to AI as there is a non-zero chance that this will be a situation in the future:
The threat of a politician whose policies sound like the ten pledges Starmer made when campaigning for the Labour leadership.
Filey, twinned with Pripyat
A reminder of the culture that Starmer nurtures in his Party.

Nobody who voted Green is employed?
He may not be aware of this, but the actual Green candidate is the kind of tradesperson that he would claim to defend.
