Actual transcript of that Smith-Stokes discussion:
What do you reckon Smithy?
Yeah, Skip, I got a big edge on that…. but…
But what?
You know.
OK, review it.
One of the very best.
Good turn out at Canterbury for the one day cup.
Pitch could do with a roll.
Hope everyone is excited for the start of the tournament today. For viewing, I’m going with Glamorgan v Hampshire. #MetroBankOneDayCup
Kookaburra ball doing Kookaburra things.
Very proud Hampshire supporter tonight. Daws!
With no Hampshire game today, I’m going for Surrey v Somerset to begin.
Exciting finish happening in War v Hants. 19 runs to win, 1 wicket remaining.

Mixed feelings about John Turner’s loan to Lancs. Would have liked to have seen him start for Hants but also glad he’s going to get game time. Hants fearing a long tail, I guess.
One of the commentators just explained that whether a ball swings or not is completely random. No it’s not. It’s physics.
Middlesex v Lancashire at Lords is turning into quite a tussle.
Cricketers taking the field at Chelmsford under blue skies.

County Championship is back! Have a good one everyone. I’m going to be missing the action today because of work but will be at Essex v Surrey tomorrow. Long may the sun shine.
Work intervenes and plan has to change. Essex v Surrey this weekend instead.
Determined to complete the set of all 18 main County grounds this season. Three left to visit. Next weekend is Derbyshire, weather permitting. Essex and Kent, I’m coming soon.
From The Guardian:“More support may soon come given the subcommittee that produced the report included Tom Harrison, the former chief executive of the England and Wales Cricket Board, who is favourite to replace the outgoing ICC chief, Geoff Allardice”. Noooooo!

Eyeing the weather forecast for the start of the County Championship suspiciously.
The other question is international cricket. How will the new owners take to their marquee names not being available for the entire competition and what is in their contracts about that? 2/2
With the “no-brainer” expansion of the Hundred. It seems inevitable that the red and white ball domestic competitions will soon be seen as distinct sports with few cross-over players so they can be played in the same months. In reality a two-tier system. (I am not saying this is good). 1/2
Flying to Madrid next weekend!
Malcom Marshall.
Having the best bowler in the world play for my home County did the trick.
Rashid a cut above and raising the eternal question as to why England went with a pace heavy attack in India.
