The whole "gender critical" argument falls apart once you realize that it's not at all about safety and everything to do with a certain type of woman's insistence that her comfort outweighs a trans person's right to exist.

I will say, my bosses have gone above and beyond to help me start a real career. And sometimes it's hard to not feel like a charity case. So when I actually feel like I'm contributing to the success of the practice- omg it just feels so amazing!

I've found I absolutely love working with kids. They are (mostly) really good listeners and also get super excited when everything looks good.

Lil' brag- since I started as the full time hygienist two months ago, we've had several new patients, most of them kids. My boss said it appears we're getting a lot of "word of mouth" referrals. And since almost all of the kids are just getting cleanings/exams, my bosses are giving me the credit 😊

We do rubber duckies too! And stickers. Kids fucking love stickers so much...

And we do new toothbrushes after regular cleanings, kids love those too.

Back-to-back cleanings in record time! Both elementary aged kids.
Both happy to have no cavities, both slightly annoyed to be done so quickly (because they have to go back to school). 😁
