The funded scholars are: Adesuwa Akhetuamhen, MD, MS from Emory University School of Medicine, with a project titled βHealth Informatics and Design Thinking to Improve Emergency Department-Based Prevention of Stroke in Populations with Hypertension.β Madeleine M. Puissant, MD, PhD from MaineHealth Institute of Research, with a project titled, βCardiac Dysfunction and Inflammation after Subarachnoid Hemorrhage (SAH) β Interaction of Adrenergic and Neuregulin Signaling Pathways.β Regina Royan, MD, MPH from the University of Michigan, with a project titled, βLocalizing Delays in Prehospital Care of Patients with Acute Stroke.β Jonathan Tam, MD from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, with a project titled, "Quantifying frailty in acutely brain injured patients and discovering modifiable mediators of poor outcome.β
The Neuro-EM Scholars Program is pleased to announce that it will fund four scholars starting in 2025. Scholars will receive up to three years of K12 funding to support their research and career development, with 75% of their effort dedicated to research and research training.
