I worry that this is an idle threat. I can just as easily see them focusing on pet issues (climate change, gun control) or coming apart over divisive issues (Israel).

Like, compare someone providing legal defense to a murderer (legal and fine) with someone providing an alibi to protect a murderer (illegal and bad). I think the distinction is important.

I get it, and I agree, but I think it misses the more important point. The strongest argument against Bondi is not that she’s merely defending potential perps, it’s that she’s breaking the law to do so.
