Also big tech doesn’t have goodwill (even if people within do); it’s fundamentally controlled by market dynamics and there’s limited ethical consumption under capitalism…eg, surfacing human rights abuses doesn’t significantly affect stock…etc. We can’t just leave these things to commercial entities.

this is why i’m invested in public comms. this theory of change isn’t easily measurable & will take time, but it seems more viable to me than appealing to goodwill of big tech (or even govrmnt's & regulators, who either are in bed with big tech or won't do much if there is no public pressure)
