A more serious & tragic take on the Dracula story, focusing on grooming, victim blaming, & the dangers of patriarchal & gender norms. Beautiful cinematography & costume design, epic cast, & a refreshingly unglamorous & rightly grotesque representation of a predatory villain

Nosferatu may be my movie of the year. Eggers so clearly loves the original movie and understands what makes it work, but also returns to Stoker’s Dracula to add to the story. As a long-time fangirl of the original, Eggers’s version was the perfect Christmas gift. 🖤

My family definitely isn’t as into horror as me (my Mom isn’t going), and were hesitant to see a horror movie on Christmas, but they know how much Nosferatu in particular means to me, and my Dad, uncle and sister all thought it looked cool, so they surprised me with tickets! 🖤
