the global time square stuff is what ruins things. i hate to sound like a hipster, but the older I get, the more i enjoy smaller quieter spaces. moved from a big town to a small town and i'm thriving..made me realize i dont do well with crowded areas, be it online or irl

If Bluesky becomes a "global town square" I will bounce. Facebook I stopped using because it became unpleasant. Twitter got so bad I deliberately got kicked from the platform. "Global town squares" are bad. Let me talk with some like-minded weirdos in peace.

but hey, the nsfw ban drove away some of the dumbest dramabaiters on the site and it's been peaceful on the site since. It's easier than ever now to curate your tumblr experience. Maybe it was a necessary evil.

Honestly believe people are doing themselves a disservice by not using it for their art. There's ways to circumvent the nsfw ban (catbox links, or just using tags the system hasn't caught onto yet. i've had pure hentai blogs follow me).

its funny how people claim tumblr is dead, but honestly it's still pretty active. I get a lot of engagement on my posts over there (well a lot to me is 50+ notes on a text post I make). It's so fun too since you can see the tags people leave when they reblog you.
