Holy shit dude
Little teaser - I'm talking more about Hell Is Us in the next issue of An Evening at the Inn π
A new Burnout Culture appears. Lots to talk about this week - Nintendo sues the government, Pokopia rocks, I wish more people told me Hell Is Us is great. It's got it all.
Kingdom Hearts 2 π
There will be FF14 stuff this wk. about a new 7.5 patch & next month there will be a formal announcement (more stuff) of the next 8.0 expansion, & if you would like me to chat about it (or any SQEX stuff) with you on your show, you should send me an email/DM! I have played this game for 15+ years. πΆβπ«οΈ
You definitely doomed yourself
Mother absolute banger from @shineyezehuhh.bsky.social
This is so incredibly damning of our global financial and political systems.
The media landscape keeps shrinking, so now more than ever, supporting independent media is important.

I actually did not know there was discourse when I posted this. I'm just thinking too much because I can't take my daily walks on account of my fucked up ankle
Booking an interview with you just to ask "What's the craziest shit you've ever seen?"
I know LinkedIn is where intelligence goes to die these days, but sometimes I see a post that makes me so mad I just have to complain about it.
I mean laying off teams of people who just made the best-selling game of 2025 doesn't seem like good business sense to me. Especially an ONGOING game that you wanted to hit 100 million players. You're not hitting that number if you get rid of the dev team.
Saw someone on LinkedIn post that they understand the EA layoffs "from a business perspective" but don't agree with them. And feels a good time to say you don't have to do that. These layoffs don't even make sense from a business perspective, and we shouldn't pretend that they do.
I'm not trying to sound conceited, genuinely. I know I've still got ways to grow and get better. But in my last performance review I was basically told "I know you could be an editor somewhere else, but great job here" And hearing that didn't make me mad, it's just, yeah.
I have luckily had incredible chances to grow as a writer and reporter, and I love that. But sometimes I think, boy I really think I could flourish running my own section, with a team of writers I could work with. I've got the experience, I've got the chops, I know it. Just not a lot of those opps
While I've certainly edited since, I've not again had a chance to be an *editor* and that kind of makes me sad. But it is definitely made up for bey the people I edited at Twinfinite who are now doing really cool things across this industry.
Honestly, the five years I was an editor at Twinfinite, despite putting up with ungodly amounts of shit from management, was some of the most fulfilling work I've done in this space. I love how integrally different it is from being a writer, and the times you can bring out someone's best work
Genuinely, we need more people that WANT to be editors out there. But a lot of companies don't even see the value in employing editors period.
Agreed. There are a few episodes that are still legitimately scary
FWIW I think the story also has that really hammy B-movie air that that a lot of early warriors games, like Dynasty Warriors 3, have
Very good recommendation. I adore Bladestorm. A strategy-lite take on Dynasty Warriors where they turn people like Edward the Black Prince into handsome husbandoes
The depression is hitting hard today, which means it might be time to restart X-Files
This is a genuinely incredible game. Astounding. $5 is a steal.
This gimmick was interesting for exactly one movie. And itβs absolutely sucked in everything else since
I havenβt found a job to apply to in like a week and a half and itβs making my anxiety spike
I too wish I could have Final Fantasy but worse
Watching a demo of how you can turn every NPC in your RPG town into somebody who says "That's right β you *are* the four LIGHT WARRIORS. You make a great point! The bridge to the main continent *does* need to be repaired, and you're just the person to do it."
Thatβs something at least lol
This is also one of the most ME pieces imaginable
