From 2016 already, but just arrived and super relevant to my current concerns; looking forward very much to having more time to read again in a week or so...

It will be a double try-out in the sense that I will be performing some experiments with uncertain outcomes and in that I will be experimenting with a lecture-performance type of format.
This will happen in the relatively safe environment of the first Research Days to be organized at KASK in Gent.
In a week, I will give a lecture-performance under the title "The Salt Transistor", sharing some of my research for the installation #79 that I hope to produce in the coming year as a response to a commission by Werktank in Leuven.

During the time of the exhibition my book "Liberate the Machines !" is also for sale at the CWB.

The marvelous exhibition "Deep Fields" at the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles in Paris is still up for two weeks, including my installation #71.1 from 2019.
Curated by Félicie d’Estienne d’Orves and Olivier Schefer, in synergy with Stéphanie Pécourt.
and there is this recording by Bekir Sıdkı Sezgin:

I quite liked this recording (despite the clipping):

This beautiful şarkı in makam buselik by Tanbûrî Mustafa Çavuş (1689-1756) was the main antidote to doomscrolling this weekend.

Building things takes time, but we're getting there.

But perhaps I should read it first..

This may be my first arrival of a book published in 2026 and judging by its table of contents it looks like an amazingly complete and thorough critique of cybernetics, with some aspects reminding me of Céline Lafontaine's "L'empire cybernétique".
Lo and finally behold: this somehow cute-looking but still untested see-through oven !

Whole new dimensions of fiddlyness; finally managed to pass those weird and stiff high-temperature and high-voltage resistant wires through several layers of that soft and brittle ceramic fiber board without causing too much damage.

Very curious about this one, the first pages are promising.

And a very beautiful recording by Mesut Cemil of what is perhaps the most well-known piece in this collection:

Found another recording of one of the pieces in this collection:

One of the pieces in this collection (recordings of these are quite rare):

Thinking of the people in Iran trapped between a lethal authoritarian regime on the ground and a genocidal regime in the sky. Seeking some refuge from doomscrolling in these beautiful pieces.

is probably the most evil tech company in the world, which, among other things, powers the ICE abductions of members of our communities. I can go on and on. I have zero good things to say about them. If I hated OpenAI more than Google, I hate Anthropic more than OpenAI.
Bernard Parmegiani's "De Natura Sonorum" from 1975 on the Acousmonium for which it was composed. Woah.
#SonicActs #DeNaturaSonorum
Spent a few hours at Sonic Acts: saw some great installations by Femke Herregraven, Sébastien Robert, Emiljia Škarnulytė and Almagul Menlibayeva amongst others, and had the privilege to hear Jana Winderen and others, but especially
I had no idea.

Geen flauw idee, sorry.

Finished also the software for the much needed oven controller and it all seems to work as expected. Next step will be to finish building that oven...

Finally got around to finishing the hardware of this much needed oven controller. Tomorrow I hope to finish the software and if the fuses arrive I can even test...
