Question: Did ancient Jews perceive the Aramaic of Daniel or the dialect that Jesus spoke as a different language from Hebrew? Or we imposed these categories on them?

How do you understand the message to be apocalyptic? I think that Jesus was talking about the present.

I feel uneasy about "reaching" too. Approach seems to fit with the closeness of the end "at hand" or "near".

On second thoughts, I see your point "accomplishment" works well with "abolishing"

More context: The author is Syriac who had excellent Arabic. In this text he translated the gospel from Syriac to Arabic and added a commentary. His diction can be influenced by Syriac. Here he's commenting on his translation of Mark 1:15 “The time has come,” ... “The kingdom of God has come near"

My translation: abolishing the first law and reaching the second law

Does the verb "reach" feel natural here? Any suggestions for a better translation?

- شخص بالِغ: يعني وصل لمرحلة من النضج.
- بيبالغ في الكلام: بيحاول يوصل رسالة اكبر من الحقايق.
- تبالغ المرض: يعني تزايد (وصل لمرحلة شديدة).
- بليغ: فصيح.
- بلغ مكان: يعني وصل.

Thank you all for the responses. ح makes a lot of sense. I was confused because a different manuscript had what looked like two vertical dots underneath for the same letter.
