Also engaging with Molly House really makes me want to look into John company, which has always felt a little too intimidating, but I'm a Root-head and can grasp the Molly House rules pretty well (pending a solo playthrough)

These are not traditional game buyers or players, but they are people. People who have to navigate a whole lot of nonsense in their lives and who certainly have the ability to learn the weird little rules and rituals of play that can open up the world of the game to them.
Definitely a play on exploiting the parasocial nature of creator/follower relationships. I do think it's a nice idea for friends or family though, especially as someone who desperately wants to share things that deeply affect me.
You know, I thought about doing this as a gift like a decade ago, to the point where I was trying to find non-destructive ways to do it (clear post it notes, stuff like that). I ended up just gifting the books, only to see my idea spun off into transparent notetaking tools and this, lol

They are in all forms a delight! I have heard such good things about the boardgame adaptation. It might be redundant with the videogame but I'm a physical media enjoyer so it's worth it.

The general undercurrent of dread and anxiety I'm feeling is more sinister and noticeable today, which makes me wonder what other shoe is about to drop.
I have two most memorable POTGs:
1) Booping 5 people off the map on Ilios as Lucio (just right into the big hole in the center of the map! all five of em in one boop!)
2) Getting a 5k in Stadium as Juno w/ torpedos
