Cast on of a 2x2 rib sock in blue, laying on a wooden board. Beside the sock there’s a notions box holding some of my progress keepers and stitch markers I collected over time. On top of the notion box cover are some stitch markers made from yarn scraps. I like these, because I often think other markers are not blending in as good as these scraps in between stitches and are spreading out my stitches around said markers a bit more. Just a preference sometimes.

Cast on. Or should I say heel turn? 🤭. Rib socks are always flying off my needles. This time I turned the sock inside out after the heel flap and knit from there.
I will turn it back to the right side (the purl stitches on the sole will be the visible sole stitches).

Nope, I didn’t. Knitting socks is just a REALLY big thing for me and I like to play around and try out things. ☺️. There’s a lot of trial and error along the way though… But I am sure there are patterns with gussets for short-row heels ☺️.

Plain vanilla socks with a short row gusset heel, laying on a white wooden background. They were knitted with a super colorful yarn. Colors are self-fading from purple to a light muddy khaki green to a sunset orange and ending at / with a mix of magenta-violet at the toes.

Short row heels with a gusset are (finally) my thing.
I really dislike the ‘regular’ ones 🤭🤭🤭.

Hi, thank you. There’s no pattern to this. It’s just a simple knit and purl combination I made up on my lunch break 🤣🤭🤭🤭.

Laying on an old white painted wooden board my almost finished first pair of socks for this year. I used a limited color called ‚Rauhnacht’ by Schwedenrot Yarns, which I would describe as a variegated yarn with a moody, almost taupe (or taupe-ish) oldrose-purple main tone with lots of colorful speckles. The pattern is mine and just a simple knit and purl combination, because sometimes the simplest things are the best. ☺️

Almost finished with my first pair of 🧦 on the first weekend of the new year ☺️.

I used @schwedenrot-yarns.bsky.social limited edition color ‘Rauhnacht’ on her Soft Sock base and a wee contrast for the first few rounds of the cuff from stash. 🧶

A pair of hand knitted socks for my husband I completed recently. They are laying flat on a wooden board. The colors are a really dark grey as main color and a cloudy, moody , but lighter blueish grey as contrast color. The motif in the pattern I used is called Iceflower.

Finally got to cast these off after a long time and a few trials and errors 🫣.

The color of the wreath is a deep forest green, decorated with a small house, some wooden stars, natural pinecones and rusty trees, aswell as some Christmas baubles and of course a Christmas train 🚂 carrying all the presents. The colors of the sock are moss green as main color and a speckled, very light yellow-orangey contrast color.
