Finally, not all people who think they're not narcissistic aren't actually narcissistic.

You may THINK of going no contact as a way to drive a point, but the moment you look back in order to get confirmation that the point was taken, then whole endeavour fails.
Because you broke no contact. It also works if you have someone check on them or if you "check" theit insta, etc.

The fact you think that no contact / shunning is a punishment to get the person behaving badly to change their ways, places you in the position of the controlling abuser, for the same reason that your way of "helping them think rightfully" is, in reality, to gaslight them.

Shunning isn't silent treatment, it's no contact.

The endgame of the silent treatment, like negging and gaslighting, is to reel in the victim and hurt her.

The endgame of no contact is to have the narcissist disappear from your life altogether, and it's not about teaching them a lesson.

When a narcissist tried to get the upperhand on you and boss you around, even when you know you could have helped, don't. Let them dig a hole for themselves. It worked at one of my old jobs, and helped me secure a few more months of employment and it got the narcissist fired.

Narcissists can get dangerous when you tell them no. They will report you to moderation on a site like this and hope that another narcissist will turn into their flying monkey. They will use your interactions as false ground for slander.

Being able to deny the acquaintance is the best barrier.

You can let them walk to their doom. You can give them a taste of their own medicine. You can set boundaries and enact consequences. You can go no contact.

Never explain to a narcissist or a moron. You may remark that you know they are being abusive, you may say "no".

But never argue.

A moron is also narcissistic, because you have to be a self-centered asshole to not want to do better or admit that you may be wrong. But morons are genuinely not interested in what lies beyond their own interests, and they really are stupid.

You cannot force cognition, but you can force experience

You cannot "force" a narcissist to see the error of their ways, because narcissists are conscious (albeit incapable of change). And the narcissist will only invalidate and project onto you to feed on your (even fantasized) frustration.

They already see the errors of their ways, it's the point.

The narcissist, when unmasked, will not let go and come back for another helping of negative supply.

The proof that this is a narcissistic person, is the confirmation through dismissal (gaslighting again, you don't have access to meaning, etc), and the projection: "defensive, eh?".

Asking them repeatedly, "do you think this is normal", is projecting normalcy (what's normal, and yes we all share the same reality, so reality is pretty "normal"), and offering them a blank mirror while forcing them to stare in it is the opposite of empowerment.

That is what you do with stupid people, if there is ever a chance of them snapping out of it. But being stupid, and being under the influence of a cult, aren't the same thing.

Neither brainwashing nor stupidity is solved by giving the 'victims' the silent treatment or invalidating their reality.

Yes it is. Questioning somebody's judgment, invalidating them repeatedly, implying their reality isn't normal, yet offering nothing in the way of a rebuke, and then repeating the gaslight until they get it "right", is the definition of psychological abuse.

You don't have to be wrong to gaslight.

Oh, look, a narcissist heard the word "gaslighting", so it's coming out of the woodworks to gaslight me that I don't know what gaslighting means.

Physical violence, threats, dominance, and incarceration are the only remedies to malignant narcissism and asocial personality disorder.

They belong behind bars because they are threats to human beings around them.
