❛ First forget inspiration. Habit is more dependable. Habit will sustain you whether you're inspired or not. Habit will help you finish and polish your stories. Inspiration won't. Habit is persistence in practice.

What's so amazing about Jim Henson as a puppeteer is that he could literally be explaining that Kermit is made out of felt and ping pong balls and yet Kermit still feels alive the whole time he's doing it
Happy birthday to one of my favourite haters, Charles Darwin
a brown wire-haired pup stands on a wooden deck in a grassy yard. he looks at us with golden eyes and his right ear flipped inside out. he has a pipe-shaped stick in his mouth, giving him the appearance of a sophisticated and dapper gentleman. just give him a deerstalker cap and a cloak, and he'd give Sherlock Holmes a run for his money.
This pup found a stick shaped like an old timey pipe earlier today and has already solved three mysteries. 13/10

Amazing
Message to the 14-Year-Old Me Believe in yourself. You can do anything you set your heart on – except A level physics, perhaps. Well, all the sciences really. DIY is a bit of a no-no, too. See also: driving; skiing; map reading; cooking pasta in the right quantities; relationships; origami. Don’t even think about running your own business. Or singing in tune. Best to steer clear of all activities which require good hand-eye coordination. Forget ice-skating, tending house plants, dealing with spiders, the correct spelling of the word ‘enjambement’. I could go on. But do not despair – for given time and with a little luck on your side – you can achieve a basic level of competence in a limited number of simple, unremarkable things, you just need to believe in yourself.
