Whoop whoop!
Enjoy all tiny joys. Iβm looking forward to the joy of presiding for the wonderful people of St Peterβs tomorrow. A vicarious joy.
Thanking God for the very you of you once again.
Archbishop of Jerusalem at a lectern in front of Synod
Privileged to hear the Archbishop of Jerusalem address #Synod. He continues to minister with such humility in the midst of brutal circumstances
PS NB my favourite response to similar requests - βNot my circus, not my monkeysββ¦
*Whispers quietly* β¦. maybe because the breadth of your actual areas of expertise is so impressive people simply donβt know that you have (some small) areas of inexperience? *quietly creeps out of the room*
Isnβt it glorious? Always an evensong highlight at St Paulβs.
If you've been impacted by @jayhulmepoet.bsky.social work or want to support him in recovering from the impact of years of stalking and harrassment, his kofi is the best place to do that. He's missed out on thousands of pounds & he could really use our help:

Prayers ascending today and over the coming days and weeks. Holding you in the love of God and friends.
Read, learn.
And inwardly digest.
Gorgeous.
For all who feel loved today And all who feel left out For all who celebrate in joy And all who rage and shout For all spending time With those who are held dear And all whose beloved ones Are missed, no longer here For all who have bumps And all who yearn and ache For all who have someone to thank And all whose hearts may break May God's, unending, mothering love Enfold you in embrace And may you find the peace that comes From God's eternal grace

Awesome
No, sorry, just canβt get this one. Any chance of an explanation for the oldies?
Wishful thinking - at least it certainly was in the RC Primary school I taught in. They were thrilled when I was recommended for training for ordination.
Ash Wednesday George Mackay Brown Remember, man, that thou art dust. The earl kneels, the ash of the end is written on his brow. A captain of ships kneels, to be put in mind of a death in a far port, or at home, or on a rock of the sea. And the boy that holds cinders for the priest, His forehead is smeared, Who wears a coat of fourteen Aprils. The lady of Paplay Thinks, most mornings, she will live forever; kneeling now Is touched with the grave-stoor. The ploughman folds sun-grained hands, He tilts his face To the dust drained of warmth and light. Fisherman, the spindrift Will wash the ashes from you tomorrow. Still you remember, between two waves, St Peter and the fire of his denials. And the old bishop, βI know this, One God-ground deed or thought Endures, when the circle of diamond-and-gold on my finger is dust.β In the kirk of Magnus Stood a multitude of islanders, death-farers, that day, Hungry, after, for panis angelicus. And unto dust thou shalt return.
Remember, man, that thou art dust.

How was Synod for me? Let me tell you⦠shared-conversations.com/2025/02/16/l...
For those wondering whatβs been going on at General Synod this is worth reading tswyatt.substack.com/p/independen...?
Today, General Synod will decide on a motion to strengthen young adults' voice (ages 18-25) in the Church of England's decision-making, ensuring these perspectives shape future Church policies. The proposal includes forming a group of 200 young adults from all dioceses to provide input on Synod discussions through surveys, reports and presentations. Up to 5 representatives would attend each Synod session. This builds previous commitments to engage younger voices and aims to encourage more young adults to stand for election. Safeguarding and inclusion are key priorities. Synod will also hear an update on Living in Love and Faith. Plans to streamline the National Church to rebuild trust and deliver greater transparency, accountability and effectiveness will be discussed too. Synod will be asked to approve the merging of various national bodies to form one organisation to oversee support for diocese and parishes.
Here's what's coming up today at Synod.
