they’re relying on talking points that they must know have a shelf-life of like 1 day. they’re fully in “just get through today’s news cycle” mode. helluva way to run a war and empire.

Hegseth: "Some in the press can't stop. Allow me to make suggestions. People look at the TV and they see banners, 'Mideast War Intensifies.' What should it read instead? How about, 'Iran increasingly desperate.' More fake news from CNN. The sooner David Ellison takes over that network, the better"
A sixth-scale figure of Jyn Erso is posed on a shelf. She's wearing her Imperial disguise from the final act of Rogue One, dressed in a black Aircraft Marshaller uniform with knee pads, a utility belt, and a chest plate (she's not wearing the helmet.) Two black batons are strapped to her back, and she's holding a blaster at her side. Jyn's knees are slightly bent, one foot in front of the other in a walking pose.
Jyn Erso, Rogue One
Ever since I got into collecting Hot Toys, Jyn has been near the top of my wish list, but her figures are really tough to get a hold of. After about three years of searching, I finally found one at a decent-ish price. Look at her!!!
To summarize, Trump has offered asylum to Iran’s women’s soccer team and death to its men’s.
Q: He's a citizen and the duty-elected mayor of NYC. What evidence do you have to justify Mamdani's deportation?
REP. RANDY FINE: I suspect he did not disclose his love for Muslim terrorists on his naturalization application
I love the idea that *this* US government, which has been nabbing landscapers and five year olds knows where Iranian sleeper cells are but just hasn’t gotten around to doing anything about it yet.
Wow, Gulf shippers are in a real bind here. On one hand, Donald says everything's fine and Gulf shippers should sail on thru. On the other hand: massive boat-melting fireballs. Both sides make good points!
So here we have the president deeming a lawmaker who has been mildly critical of him a traitor to the country.
Once again, just imagine Obama or Biden declaring some random congressman "disloyal to the United States of America," and the round-the-clock media freakout you would have seen.
we remain firmly on track for 'republican president leaves the country an omnishambles, next democratic president is punished for not cleaning it up fast enough'
This sounds like somebody who grew up rich trying to imagine what poor people sound like.
We know how cash money works FAR BETTER than you do. You might know systems like stocks & IRAs & bonds & trust funds, but we do know cash money. We know SNAP doesn’t buy EVERYTHING at the grocery store.
Shameful
There's something deeply obscene and broken about the fact that Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth are bombing elementary schools in an illegal war of aggression, and there's still a sense among the opposition that it has to be explained in terms of gas prices in order to get American voters to care.
Trump: "I guess it would be illegal. Could you imagine? They spend millions and millions on a campaign. They're losing and they beg me for an endorsement. I give it, they win by 30 points. And I get nothing. If I could sell that -- is there a way? Is there a way I can get paid for that, Marco?"
Iran, which is being beat to HELL, has apologized and surrendered to its Middle East neighbors, and promised that it will not shoot at them anymore. This promise was only made because of the relentless U.S. and Israeli attack. They were looking to take over and rule the Middle East. It is the first time that Iran has ever lost, in thousands of years, to surrounding Middle Eastern Countries. They have said, “Thank you President Trump.” I have said, “You’re welcome!” Iran is no longer the “Bully of the Middle East,” they are, instead, “THE LOSER OF THE MIDDLE EAST,” and will be for many decades until they surrender or, more likely, completely collapse! Today Iran will be hit very hard! Under serious consideration for complete destruction and certain death, because of Iran’s bad behavior, are areas and groups of people that were not considered for targeting up until this moment in time. Thank you for your attention to this matter! President DONALD J. TRUMP
Trump's psychotic, murderous post: "Iran is being beat to HELL … They said, 'Thank you President Trump.' I said, 'You’re welcome!' ... Today Iran will be hit very hard! Under serious consideration for destruction & certain death are groups of people not considered for targeting until this moment"

An art print of Kara from Supergirl. She's shown from the torso up, smiling brightly as she flies. Over her shoulder are the words "Hope, help and compassion for all."
There isn't a ton of Supergirl artwork out there, so I'm always excited when I find a talent artist who draws for that fandom. This is one of many lovely pieces by @rafidesousa.bsky.social

CNN put together a video illustrating that while Trump regime officials keep describing the Iran strikes as a "war," Republican members of Congress are using all sorts of euphemisms
I don't think that the SAVE act includes anything about points 4 or 5? I think he's just throwing in some anti-trans stuff into his post for the fun of it?
Longstanding ethical and theological debates over war, the appropriate use of violence, and various approaches to justice notwithstanding:
That's not how human rights work.
NOEM: Our federal detention centers are held to the highest standards in comparison to other detaining facilities
McBATH: Did you just hear me? He has to crawl through mold and feces and bodily fluids just to take a shower. This is absolute lunacy and you know it.
Kristi Noem insists ICE is not creating a database of protesters, despite ICE agents' and Tom Homan's comments to the contrary
CORREA: What do you suggest I tell my constituents? Have a passport with you all the time?
NOEM: No. I would tell your citizens to be grateful they live in this country where President Trump is upholding the law. We will help them self-deport.
CORREA: These are American citzens!
Jayapal to Noem: "None of these four US citizens were charged with a crime, none had their citizenship questioned, and all were lawfully exercising their First Amendment rights. Do you have anything you want to say to them?"
Jayapal to Noem: "I want to introduce you to just four of the US citizens unlawfully detained by ICE ... they're in this room with us."
An action figure of Carol Danvers is posed on a shelf. She's raised up on an elevated stand so it looks like she's flying, and she's wearing her helmet with her super suit--her eyes are glowing white, and her hair is sticking out the top of her helmet and floating like a mohawk. One of Carol's arms is out at her side, fingers spread, while the other is pulled back ready to punch.
Carol Danvers, Captain Marvel
I looooove Carol! She's such a terrific character, and I love how Brie Larson plays her. This is one figure where I like switching the head sculpts around because the masked head is so cool!
LIEU: Did Liam Ramos commit a crime?
NOEM: He did not commit a crime. His father abandoned him
LIEU: I believe you're not telling the truth. School officials said there were people saying they could take care of Liam, and a federal judge rejected your claims
RASKIN: Is it lawful for federal agents to shoot and kill a person for engaging in peaceful protest?
NOEM: No
RASKIN: Is it lawful for agents to shoot someone just for driving away from them?
NOEM: No
RASKIN: Well, I'm glad you got the law right
Garcia: "I want to just show this image here. This is an image of some kids, including one of Liam Ramos's classmates. These are kids that are being held at detention facilities."
SCHIFF: Don't you think in aftermath of a shooting you should provide only vetted information? How will you gain the trust of people if you're pushing out false info about the shootings of American citizens?
NOEM: I work every day to get out factual information
SCHIFF: Well, you didn't that day
TILLIS: On Minneapolis, we can't we just say we made a mistake? Who does Tom Homan work for?
KRISTI NOEM: The president
TILLIS: That's because I believe the president recognized you weren't getting it done in Minneapolis
