Gah! You described my situation exactly. I'm getting the same kind of toxic positivity from my parents. My "day job" is federally funded. Their pivots to talking about "bright sides" is killing me. They don't see the big picture, nor do they see their role in it. I'm so sorry.

Loving these new (old) tractor seed plates and sprockets for rust printing. Silk takes the prints like a dream! #textileart #handmade

Fourth! Also, consider a trip to Whidbey Island. You can ferry over from Seattle, spend some time on the island, and then take a different ferry over to the Olympic Peninsula. Best of all worlds with less travel time.

Thank you! It's very satisfying! Super fun to reveal what happens with the rusty bits after 24 hours of "rusting" on the fabric.

Rust + indigo organic cotton bandana. I can't get enough of this process!

My parents' place in Arizona has proven itself to be the perfect climate/location for #dyeing with rust. For starters, I found a ton of rusty stuff in the yard! I also stopped at a local trading post to get more rusty things! Also unlike the PNW, my cloth dries really fast. #textilearts

Excellent! My parents are here and I always make it a point to try to go to the miner's co-op part of the gem show. Also trying to soak up as much sun as possible before heading back to WA.

I'm in Oracle, AZ off and on for the next few weeks. So I might be able come down for the ArtWalk! 🥳

Amazing work! Any chance you'll be staffing the gallery again soon?

I'm a big fan of the color palette of stones coming from the #deadcamelmountains in Nevada. This handmade, sterling silver necklace has a playful nod to the stone's origin on the backplate.

As I establish a presence here, I'll be posting throwbacks to some of my favorite pieces. This one is a piece of #havaridgejasper that I cut and polished from rough. The custom topo map behind the stone is from the #owyheemountains in Oregon where the stone is sourced.

I'd love to be added! Thanks for putting this together! 💕 FYI I'm not able to direct message you, you appear grayed out when I try.

I took this a few weeks ago, but it seems appropriate for a first post here. A rare blue sky, winter day looking toward Mt Rainier from the west side of Whidbey Island.
