Looks like ICE agents have some big incentives to be "extra"...
I don't think social media is good for kids...or any of us. But as someone pointed out to me, rather than banning, we should really be teaching young people good habits around social media so that they are able to control it rather than it controlling them. Otherwise, it's just delaying the problem.
yeah, the whole thing is so wonky. And after labelling Renee Good a domestic terrorist, I don't trust anything they say.
As you know, anyone can call themselves whatever nowadays. Doesn't mean I have to accept them as such.
Exactly. They were always activists.
There's such conflicting narratives here. They claim he refused to show ID. His representative claims that's not true. Nor does he live in a household with the men who were wanted. Meanwhile...I can't understand why he wouldn't be allowed to put on some clothes...
They were never journalists though...
So the third most banned account on BlueSky is...ICE. And number one most banned is JD Vance.
Not particularly surprising.
Mark Cuban is in the top 20 though...what did he do? (I am probably missing something).
People think that they can't be manipulated. Maybe other people but not them. Not through propaganda. Not through algorithms. Not through social media & PR campaigns.
Guess what...that's exactly what they would like you to think.
You may not lie outright. But how much of the truth do you exaggerate? How much of it do you hide? Can you still call yourself an honest person?
Because both sides are often so dishonest and disingenuous, I often find myself unsure of what to believe and with limited time to thoroughly fact check. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
Not sure how to solve this issue. Hopefully using technology for good.
Starting over is intimidating.
Having a culture you want to celebrate, maintain and preserve is not "identity politics." It's an integral part of humanity. And it can be wonderful.
Identity politics is when one wants to treat some cultures unfairly or give them either more rights or try to take them away.
I wish I was better at ignoring people who deserve to be ignored.
Is this platform blowing up? Just thought I'd check.
First thought when you wake up?
I feel like some people here might find this to be an interesting read—THE RISE OF THE RIGHT WING WOKE:

The best apology a person can give it to do better in the future.
How depressed am I? Yes.
A key component of an extremist is their unwillingness to change their position no matter how the situation evolves, or what new information comes in.
My friend Katherine just wrote an excellent piece on the “angry” social media grifter @kat.bsky.social
Interesting timing considering I JUST encountered someone like this today…

I wrote a thing about social grifters:

Aside from you and Nora I've also got no one to talk to here.
Don't confuse someone's ability to be articulate with them having something valuable to say.
People who can't admit what they do not know should not be trusted.
Would you rather live an additional 10 amazing years full of adventure, riches and good health, or 30 years full of worry, saving pennies and mediocre, declining health?
What makes this app different than the bird? And... how do I find the energy to start over?
I'm too dumb to answer that question.
The bird app! lol
